Each time that I do a couple or family sketch, I fall more and more in love with this simple, straightforward process. There's just something so fun about capturing the essence of a person through a simple black and white line drawing--without giving everything away by adding all of their facial features or getting *too* detail-obsessed. I've recently created 4 more of these fun sketches--only one of which cannot be shown because it hasn't been revealed to the recipient yet--so thought I'd share 3 of them with you today. You can view each sketch and a few details about it below... Above: Kati commissioned the above drawing of her sweet family as a part of their save-the-date/wedding decor. Obviously it's her, her fiance, and their dog, with their wedding date included below. I provided her with lots of different versions of the sketch to use for her materials, including a version without the dog, a version with their names, a version to be used on their thank you cards, etc. So fun! Below: Nicole commissioned the drawing below as an anniversary gift to her BFF who got married last summer. She obviously sent me a picture of the moment when the couple was first announced as Bride & Groom, and together we decided which details to include and which to leave out. It's always nice to change things up and do full-body versions of these sketches! Below: A group of sons and daughters-in-law got together to commission the below drawing for the grandmother of their children. It obviously featured all of her grandchildren and was given to the grandmother on her birthday. Such a great idea, isn't it? Thanks to all of the fabulous peeps who thought of me for these special projects!
