Today, we interrupt your regular programming for something that I am UBER excited about: We have a podcast! It's called Starr Struck Radio and you can find it in iTunes here (!!!!!!). If I wanted to show my true colors right now, I would just type about 10 lines of exclamation points + some nervous/scared emoticons, and then end the post, but I'll spare you...and I'll back up for a minute. I've been wanting to create a podcast since January 2014, but I was scared to add something to my already packed schedule, I was scared to put myself out there in another way, and I was scared that no one would listen and it would be a total flop (#thestruggleisreal). So, I put it off, and thought about it, and put it off again, and obsessed about it for the past year or so. And then, right in the middle of the holidays and buying a house (because when else would you start a new project except for right in the thick of things?), I started researching the process of recording a podcast. Then I pulled the trigger and bought two headset mics online. And that was all it took. About 6 weeks later, our first episode is here. ["Our" refers to me and Ben, who I recruited as my sidekick/co-host--although he's scared of that title, I think.] Thus, ta da! The rest is history and you can listen to our VERY FIRST EPISODE below OR by downloading it in iTunes (Note: there is another podcast called "Starr Struck"--BIG sigh--so be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio" if you're searching for it). Lots more info about how to get the episode/listen + podcasts in general in the FAQs below... Starr Struck Radio FAQs: -What is a podcast?
A radio show or audio file that you get from the internet and can listen to at any time. You can listen on a website (through the player above, for instance), or you can SUBSCRIBE to get the podcast (directions below) so that it is automatically downloaded to your phone or tablet each time a new episode comes out. -How do I get your podcast? This is the BEST video I've ever seen explaining how to get a podcast (from the great folks at Serial). If you want to subscribe, as they explain in the video, you can do so through the Podcasts app on an iPhone or iPad, or in the Stitcher app on an Andriod device. Or, you can just listen by playing straight from the site, using the player above. -What is Starr Struck Radio about? Starr Struck Radio is a weekly podcast focused on living a creative and inspired life. Mary Catherine Starr and her sidekick (and husband), Ben, discuss all things related to navigating the world as an adult and finding joy in the everyday. The discussion topic will be different each week, as will the length of the podcast, but they'll usually fall between 25-40 minutes long. -What is this week's episode about? "How to Maximize Your Mornings:" What's your morning routine? Are you making the most of your AM hours? In Starr Struck Radio's first episode, we tackle this subject in a two-part discussion. In the first half of the episode, we delve into why you should makeover your mornings (with lots of help from Laura Vanderkam's book What The Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast). In the second half, we discuss our own morning routines, how they've changed our lives, and share some of our tips on how you can start to make the most of your mornings. Now that we've discussed logistics, I have a few favors to ask: 1. If you listen and like the show, pleasepleaseplease rate us OR (even better!), post a review in iTunes. It makes a big difference in getting us seen/heard and helps other listeners find us. 2. If you like the show, please subscribe in iTunes! Again, the more subscribers we have, the better for the show. 3. If you have any feedback, requests, and/or thoughts to share about the first episode, please send them my way! You can post to the comments of this post, tweet at me, or email them to me. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING! We plan on dropping a new episode every Tuesday, and can't wait to delve deeper into this new medium. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Catching up on old episodes. So, there is a lot to apply in this one. I totally would benefit from getting up a half-hour earlier and committing to meditation, or taking time to really wake up with a newspaper before the work day. Maybe then I wouldn't fritter away so much time in the office before noon!
