In this week's podcast episode, we talk about the challenges of trying to do it all (or have it all) and the fact that doing everything well--or up to your ideal standards--simply isn’t possible.
Ben and I get into this topic by sharing the ways in which we each face this reality every day in our own lives and how we only see it getting worse as our family grows over time. To close the episode, we share some thoughts on how you can train yourself to let go of the things you simply cannot get to and how you can start to make more conscious choices about how to use your time and energy doing what matters most. You can listen below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

(....and not just because of the 2nd shoot out, though I appreciated that :) It was great to actually hear from a man's perspective about all the little ways that one can feel inadequate. The shining of the shoes definitely made me smile because that is something I would have never thought about. Clearly in certain professions, there are old traditions and practices - from a period when lack of time was not the problem that it is today - that still have meaning and bearing on the day-to-day work life. And of course, technology has made this worse by setting the expectation that we are reachable at any point in time. This sh* is real, and while I don't wish it on others, it does help to know that we, as a generation, are all facing the challenges of taking on too much and not being able to perform our best in all that we do. Thanks for another thought-provoking and honest discussion. Comments are closed.
