In this week's Starr Struck Radio episode, we delve into a topic that comes up in almost every single SSR episode: therapy.
As many of you know, I’m a huge proponent of therapy. My dad is a therapist, my late stepmom was a therapist, I’ve spent many hours of my life in therapist’s offices, and I think therapy is an amazing and underused tool that can be life-changing. But, that’s not how everyone feels about it. In fact, for most, going to therapy is a taboo subject; often people are secretive about the fact that they have a therapist and/or act like it means that something is wrong with them. But it doesn’t! So, in this episode, I pick psychologist Erica Merson’s brain about this topic. My hope is that this episode becomes a resource for those who are trying to decide if therapy is a good fit. We discuss how to find a good therapist, what therapy is like, how it can help, and more. You can listen to the episode below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

I guess I like the word "life coach" better, because, yes, therapy has a stigma. Why can't we use the phrase "life coach" if that makes it more comfortable for people? Just a thought.....

Interesting, Debbie...I don't have a problem with that term or title, and I think if someone would rather call their therapist that, they should! ;) Comments are closed.
