[We're in the middle of a blizzard right now, but we made it through the night and still have power! Fingers crossed that we don't lose it today. Please send good thoughts to those in our area whose houses are losing heat by the minute...it's INSANE out there.] Welp, here we are! Episode 3. We're still going, and we're loving it! And as you'll hear in the podcast, Ben is really loving it ;) In this week's episode, we have some fun. We start to loosen up a bit (finally!) and it's nice to hear us getting more comfortable "on air." And although there's definitely still some nervous laughter and rambling going on (mostly on my part), I think it's decreasing with each episode and am hoping that soon we'll be real live podcasters! Yay! Anywho, here's this week's episode description: Whether you work in a traditional office or online, whether you're a solopreneur or an employee of a big corporation, there's something that you need to master--how to walk the fine line between promoting yourself [your work, your accomplishments, and/or your business] and being annoying, braggy, or downright narcissistic. In this week's episode, Ben and Mary Catherine take on this topic in two parts: In the first half of the episode, Ben talks about this subject as it relates to promoting yourself and getting noticed in a traditional workplace. In the second half of the episode, Mary Catherine discusses this subject as it pertains to promoting yourself, your products, your services, and/or your business online. This episode is full of tips on how to stand up for yourself, how to promote your work, and how to market yourself without being that person. You can listen to the show below OR by downloading it in iTunes (As usual, I must note that there is another podcast called "Starr Struck," so be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio" if you're searching for it). Two more notes, as promised in the episode: -If you want to rate us (thank you!) but don't know how, here are some simple directions. The only tricky part--if you're already a subscriber, you still have to search for the show in the iTunes store (search "Starr Struck Radio") in order to review it--you can't just select it from your podcast library. -Our favorite podcasts, as mentioned in the "ad spot:" Stay warm + safe out there and thanks again for listening, everyone!
