Ben takes the lead! And thus, in this week's episode, we tackle two of his recent obsessions: In the first half of the show, we talk spirit animals and Ben shares his recent "connection" with a wild animal in our yard (which I have to say, is very sweet). In the second half of the show, we discuss why laundry has become one of Ben's main life activities, what he can do about it, and some of the lessons that laundry (and other household chores) have to teach us. If you, too, feel like you spend a good portion of your life doing laundry, I think this part of the episode will speak to you ;) You can listen below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").

Hi Mary Catherine and Ben - your latest podcast really had me grinning like crazy in the gym this morning. My wireless headphones are a snug fit and do a very good job of blocking out noise in the gym, so much so that I found myself laughing and chuckling and forgetting that of course everyone would hear me - ah well. Oh, as for the spirit animal, I've thought for some years of the 'owl' and sure enough, that's what the quiz came up with too. Mary Catherine, I agree with you about Ben's laundry zero - with a husband, two boys, dog and a cat, there are not many days when laundry isn't a feature for me but I don't really make it a big issue because I just fit it around other priorities. I do have a large hamper for our dirty clothes and simply wash when it's full. I fold clean clothes on our bed and then place into a laundry basket or two and simply put it away. I try to make things as easy as possible for myself and rarely iron, don't often wash things inside out etc. Take care both of you...

So glad we made you laugh, Jane! Ridiculous episode, if I do say so myself ;) Owl as a spirit animal...I think you need to do a series of owl paintings...? And I love your nonchalant take on laundry and hope Ben can adopt it sometime soon! Thanks for listening. xoxo! Yes, I think I should do an owl series - great idea! I loved Ben's 'toad' experiences - so sweet and really quite poetic (seriously, in a nice way). I'm waiting for the 'right moment' to ask this very same question to my hubby - we'll see ;) Have a lovely weekend with your Mum. jx
