If you've listened to every episode of Starr Struck Radio thus far, then you know that Ben is fairly obsessed with training and fitness.
If you've been reading the blog for a long time, then you also probably know that I've always been someone who works out regularly, but that my interests have changed over the years (running, gym time, CrossFit, etc). This week, we give Ben what he wants and discuss fitness for an entire episode (his dream!), but we bring in an expert to help us discuss it more knowledgeably--and so that we can get an insider's perspective on the subject. In this episode you'll get to meet our dear friend Bobby Scott (and another one of Ben's oldest friends!), and learn about his process and experience as a personal trainer. And yes, we also talk about Ben's ridiculous middle school haircut again. Here's the episode description: Our second guest! This week, we chat with our good friend Bobby Scott, a talented Cape Cod-based personal trainer, about setting and meeting fitness goals. In the first half of the episode, we discuss common training goals and mistakes that people often make when trying to reach these goals. In the second half of the show, we share tips and tools for meeting your fitness goals, and we close with a fun rapid fire segment, in which both Ben and Bobby choke under pressure ;) You can listen to the show below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher.
As usual, here are some of the links and resources that we discussed on the show:
And here's where you can find our fabulous guest, Bobby Scott (he does remote coaching, so you don't have to live on the Cape to work with him!): If you're new to Starr Struck Radio, you can find the FAQs (how to listen, description of the show, etc.) here. Thanks for joining us, Bobby, and thanks for listening, everyone! 4/14/2015 08:25:34 am
Another awesome episode, although I have a little bit of a bone to pick with Ben here :) I disagree with some of his thoughts on Couch to 5K. After about a year of aimlessly going to the gym and spending time on the elliptical and wondering why I wasn't getting any results, I decided to use Couch to 5K to help propel me to the next level and give me a goal to work toward. After completing it, I ran my first 5K and then went on to run more than 30 other races, including a half marathon. Couch to 5K definitely helped me make running a habit and kept me motivated. I agree that time-based programs aren't the only answer, but they certainly can help when it comes to implementing overall lifestyle changes.

This is SUCH great info, Jessica! Thanks so much for sharing it! That's kind of what I was trying to say to Ben in the episode, but I didn't say it as eloquently (and didn't get my point across well)... ;) Kudos to you and SO inspiring! We'll address this on a future episode, because I think it needs to be discussed. Yay for Couch to 5K! And to you for being such a rockstar!

Re: your first world problem - store your peanut butter upside down! That lets the oil blend into the rest of the PB and minimizes the oil-spilling mess. You just have to make sure it's sealed tightly and be careful when opening it in case PB is stuck to the lid. It works really well!! Comments are closed.
