I know that an entire episode about dog adoption might seem totally ridiculous (and uninteresting/annoying) to some, but to those of you out there who are in the same boat as we are--and I know that there are many of you--this episode is for you. When I talk about the "boat" that we're in, this is the boat to which I am referring: The total dog lover, obsessed with our dog and treat her like our entire world/child boat. The boat full of people who have adopted or are constantly thinking about adopting a pet (or another pet). The boat for people who like talking about their dog just a *little* too much. That boat. You know the one. So, Episode 12 of Starr Struck Radio is for people who are already in that boat with us, or who want to find a way onto that boat. And to that, I say, climb on in! If you're not a dog person and/or dog talk bores you, you have total permission to skip this week's episode and just join back up next week ;) Here the description of this week's show: In Episode 12, we indulge our mushy, lovey-dovey sides and talk about one of our favorite subjects (our very favorite subject?), our rescue dog, Sayde. This little dog-child has changed our lives in so many ways that we felt we had to spend some time talking about her on the show. During the first half of the episode, we tell our Sayde adoption story and discuss the process of adopting a pet from halfway across the country. In the second half of the episode, we share some of the challenges that we’ve experienced with Sayde, how she has changed our lives, what we've learned from her, and some tips for those who might want to rescue a dog themselves. You can listen to the episode below OR by downloading and/or subscribing in iTunes or Stitcher (be sure you search "Starr Struck Radio").
Oh, and as promised, here are some of the articles and posts that we mention in the episode:

Have been meaning to comment for a while, but am always out walking MY rescue dog while listening! A couple random thoughts ... 1) do you know what that safe driving app is? Such a good idea! 2) your first world problems segment is hilarious! One current problem I'm having is not being able to comment on your podcast while I'm listening to it. Ugh! 3) I judge people who buy expensive dogs, unless they have an actual reason they need a certain breed. Rescue dogs are so lovable!! 4) I know you said not to feel weird about listening to you, but I do! My husband and I are going up to New England this summer, and he asked if I wanted to visit you, and I was like, I'm pretty sure she barely knows me but I feel like I know her! So, thanks for sharing yourself on the blog and podcast! :)
