What an amazing day. Simply amazing. I spent the entire day in a workshop called "Pages & Paint" with the ever-so-talented artist Sarah Ahearn (description of this workshop in yesterday's post). I simply LOVE her work! She is a very unqiue artist and I was extremely inspired by her pieces and her process. I also really enjoyed playing with mixed media for the first time in years, and can't wait to do so again tomorrow. Because I want to get out and enjoy the woods before dinner, I'm just going to share two quick images of the pieces that I created today... The painting below is a result of all that we learned today. I spent an hour or two working on it in the afternoon and had a blast. It's very small, but I'm excited by the possibilities of it :) And then this one is a piece that I did as a part of a "warm-up game" that we did to help us loosen up before we started working. We passed around pieces of paper with instructions on them (for example, "paint with your eyes closed" or "collage with a page from a book") and had two minutes to do whatever the instructions said before moving on to our next instruction. It was challenging but a lot of fun. And my finished product isn't that bad, but is very, very different for me... So yes, you could say that I'm enjoying my time as a Squammer thus far :) Other highlights? The food (OMG!), the environment (will share pics tomorrow) and the people (amazing). More info to come tomorrow! Namaste, Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
