This past weekend was our Tranquil Space teacher retreat in West Virginia. I had such a blast and am sad that it's over, but I also feel so rejuvenated, nurtured, replenished, and excited to be a teacher (and to be a part of such a wonderful community!). The trip was also a great reminder of what 24 hours away from the city can do for the body, mind, and spirit... Here's a list of the WONDERFUL little things (and reminders!) that brought me joy over the weekend: ![]() -S'mores (see picture to the right). I had 3 on Saturday night! -Hammock time (see picture above). Kimberly and Tim have 2 hammocks and I had forgotten how comfortable and relaxing they are...I want one! -Sitting by the fire -Taking a morning stroll through a small town -Enjoying a rare morning treat by treating myself to coffee -Spending time with inspirational people. I learned so much just from listening to the other teachers talk and share -Fresh watermelon -Laughing REALLY hard over ridiculous inside jokes -Seeing deer grazing at dusk ![]() -Driving through gorgeous country/sprawling fields with the windows down -Grilled corn (YUM!) -Listening to music while sitting on a deck in the sun (why is this so much fun?) -Doing yoga outdoors (see picture to right) -Doing legs up the wall but using a tree as your wall (did it and it was great!) -Buying small pieces of art as creative souvenirs (picked up a small woodcut of the W. VA woods in Berkeley Springs...can't wait to hang in new apartment!) ![]() -Sitting outside and enjoying the silence -Old fashioned movie theaters in old fashioned towns (see picture to the right...the stars did me in!) -Learning new things! I was so inspired to keep growing and learning as a teacher this past weekend. I think I see the 500hr Teacher Training in my near future... Thanks to everyone who made the past weekend so much fun...I really needed to get away, clear the mind, and replenish my energy source. Plus, we made it through the rapture, yay ;) Reflect on your weekend--what little things brought you joy, relaxation, a sense of rejuvenation? Namaste! Mary Catherine Comments are closed.
