A few of the simple, sensory pleasures that brought me joy this week... HEAR: "Blue Mind" by Alexi Murdoch This song is an oldie but a goodie, and I had forgotten about it until I rediscovered it when making my September playlist earlier this month. Whenever it comes on when I'm teaching, it makes me feel a bit more present and a bit more peaceful. I love it. You can listen below: SEE: Dream Big Yogathon donations coming in... I have a really hard time asking for money, but I'm passionate about the organization that this weekend's event is supporting, so I've sucked it up and have been asking. On Wednesday, I was completely touched by those of you who donated after reading my blog post--THANK YOU SO MUCH. Seeing an email pop up in my inbox about each donation warmed my heart. Haven't donated yet? It's not too late! Read everything you need to know here and donate here. TASTE: Croissant from PB Boulangerie {aka gluten, after 7 weeks without!} I won't go into the backstory, since I discussed it in Tuesday's post, but suffice it to say that when I ate a croissant on Sunday--after 7 full weeks of not eating anything of the sort--it was glorious. Glor-i-ous. I love croissants anyways, but WOW. Nothing like eliminating a food group from your diet to make you appreciate it's deliciousness! PS. If you haven't seen Ben's PB Boulangerie video, I think it's worth a watch ;) SMELL: Bouquet o' flowers sitting on the kitchen table Okay, so I have to be honest and say that I haven't actually enjoyed the scent of the flowers that I'm mentioning here (I don't think they're strongly-scented?), but these flowers have brought me so much joy and flowers are *supposed* to be scented, so I'm going with it. On Monday, we had plans to go visit some friends who just had a new baby, but they canceled late in the day (understandably!) and I had already purchased flowers for them. Oh well, I thought to myself, we'll have to keep them! I had forgotten how much a beautiful bouquet can brighten up your home. So wonderful. [Sidenote: They're making me want to do a flower painting challenge of some sort. Still pondering...] TOUCH: Ben has been making the bed every day (!!!!!!) Ben is very particular about how our bed is made. Whenever I make it, he grumbles about what a poor job I did when we get into bed at night (and I'll admit, I do do a poor job, but that's because I don't really care how it's made, as long as it's made). But this week, all of the sudden, he's started making it every morning before work--without even saying anything to me about it! So I guess my 'touch' SJOTW here is twofold: NOT having to make the bed AND getting into a bed that someone else has made. Marital bliss! I hope that you, too, can take some time to reflect on your SJOTW today... Enjoy your Friday! Comments are closed.
