I leave for Italy today (where Kimberly Wilson and I are co-leading our Art + Asana Retreat)! I am *so* pumped.
Before we get into my #SJOTW, I have a few housekeeping notes for while I'm away: 1. I'm planning on putting up a blog post or two next week (probably just filled with Italy pictures!), but will not be posting regularly. I'll resume my normal M-F blogging schedule the week of the 19th. 2. There will be no interruption to your regularly-scheduled Starr Struck Radio programming! Check-in for a new episode on Tuesday (the 13th). Yes, we pre-recorded and are very proud of ourselves ;) Now lets chat about simple pleasures! What brought you happiness over the past 7 days? My sensory pleasures of the week are below... HEAR: "I Fall in Love" by Hozier Hozier. What a voice, huh? This is his newest radio song and I love it. You can listen here. SEE: Festive fall decor = pumpkins + mums, of course! After chopping firewood last weekend (which you can hear more about on this week's Starr Struck Radio episode), Ben and I were feeling very festive. We took a trip to a local farm stand to buy pumpkins to decorate our doorstep (which we'd filled with mums the weekend before) and voila--our little house was ready for it's first fall season [with us]! So fun. TASTE: Anniversary dinner at Bistrot de Soliel We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants on the Cape last weekend, and it was simply divine. The food, the wine, the company (!)--we had a blast. We chatted about everything that has happened in the last year of our marriage (a lot, we figured out!) and it was very special. SMELL: Firewood As you may have already heard, Ben and I received a *very large* firewood delivery last weekend. It was just dumped in our yard and we spent the better half of an afternoon stacking our first woodpile. Although we were intimidated by it at first, it was quite satisfying to finish the project and see all of the wood stacked up on the side of our house. Excited for our first fire! TOUCH: Assisting students at the Dream Big Yogathon Last Sunday was the Dream Big Yogathon, and it was wonderful (although a bit chilly). We raised $30,000 for Dream Day on Cape Cod--a fabulous local non-profit--and had a great turnout for the class that I co-taught with 4 other teachers. While one teacher taught, the rest of us assisted, and I loved being able to focus on just assisting for a majority of the class. ...And there you have it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend (+ week next week)! The next time you hear from me, I'll be in Italia ;) {Follow me on Instagram for real-time pics of my travels.
