Welp, 5 years ago today Ben and I tied the knot down in GA! I won't go into it here now because I've got a relationship-related post slated for Monday, but I will say that these past 5 years have f l o w n by, just like these weeks keep doing...which is all the more reason to try and be as present and mindful of each moment as possible!
And which also brings us to our SJOTW. How was your week? Did you get to enjoy a lot of simple, sensory pleasures? I hope so. Here are some of mine... HEAR: "Cocoon" by Milky Chance This song is so fun! I know it's not a conventional yoga song, but it's on my October class playlist and I'm kind of loving it. Listen below and get ready to shake your booty; it's a hard one not to want to dance to ;)
SEE: Loryn Brantz's Instagram feed Yesterday I posted on Instagram about how much Charlie Mae and I love her book Feminist Baby (given to her by two of my BFFs--thanks!) and the author of the book, Loryn Brantz, commented on my post. I was so touched that I went to check out her feed and when I did, I quickly became a devoted new follower. I spent WAY too much time last night looking through all of her old cartoon/illustration posts and dying laughing. It's like she's in my head. Seriously. Check her out! TASTE: Japanese Sweet Potatoes Have you tried Japanese Sweet Potatoes? Oh my goodness, you MUST! They're the best! They seriously melt in your mouth. All it took was one bite and I was sold; this is the second week in a row that I've baked a bunch at the beginning of the week and eaten them throughout the week and I'm not kidding when I say that I look forward to mealtime SO much more when I know I get to eat one of these potatoes. How are they so much better than regular sweet potatoes?!?!? SMELL: Fresh air while working The weather thos week was finally the perfect temp for working outside again! I was able to sit out on the back deck while working 3 days in a row and it was heavenly. There's nothing like sipping a seltzer, breathing in the fresh fall air, and looking out at your backyard while working. The best. TOUCH: Acorn-collecting with Charlie Mae Charlie Mae is in love with collecting, sorting, and throwing acorns, and because of this, so am I ;) We've done a bit of acorn gathering every day this week and for some reason, it's felt so special to me. Acorns really are beautiful if you look at them, and playing with little objects from nature reminds me so much of my own childhood...I'm really grateful to her for forcing me to sit outside every day and just observe the natural process of the seasons changing. So there you go--I hope you can find some time to reflect on your simple, sensory joys of the week today, too. Have a great weekend! Ben and I have an afternoon anniversary date planned for tomorrow (hike + early bird special dinner, haha!) and I can't wait :) 11/8/2017 08:24:21 am
