October 4th. Wowee. If you receive my newsletter you already know this, but if not, let me tell you that I really love October. I *think* it may be one of my favorite months. I have to admit that I haven't yet done many fall-ish things (apple picking, visit to a pumpkin patch, hot cider sipping, etc.), so I'm going to make that a priority moving forward/this weekend. In the meantime, here's what brought me joy this week. What made you happy? HEAR: "Warm Water" by Banks One of the best things about having this blog is the amazing music that you guys send my way. I mean, seriously, thank you! I get so many emails suggesting new music or songs that you think I might like, and the most amazing part is that I basically always do like those songs--you guys know my taste so well! This week, Jennifer sent me a link to the following song by a new artist, Banks. Oh my, I love it. To say it's been playing on repeat is an understatement (just ask Ben, who worked from home a few times this week...). You can listen below: SEE: Your Dress Submissions!
I guess I'm having a bit of a reader lovefest today, but you guys, yay for your dress submissions! They're all so fabulous and have such great stories accompanying them! I've decided that there is *NO* way that I'll ever be able to narrow it down on my own, so I'll be opening voting up on the blog in order to choose the final 10 dresses. For those who haven't submitted your dresses yet, keep 'em coming! You can submit until 10/11 and details about submitting your dress can be found here. TASTE: Lara Bars These are, hands-down, my new favorite gluten-free bars. I'll admit that they don't look super appealing, and if you're a granola bar person, you might not like them, but I love them. As a recent Amazon Prime convert (so fabulous!), I bought a big box late last week and have been enjoying at least one per day. My favorite flavors? Peanut Butter Cookie, Cashew Cookie, and Blueberry Muffin. YUM. SMELL: Peaches This week, I've been trying to enjoy the last of the fresh summer fruit before it's gone...In fact, maybe it's already gone, and what I'm eating has been shipped here from some far off location, but I'm telling myself that it's the last of the summer fruit (please don't burst my bubble on this one!). There's not much that can beat the scent of a ripe summer [fall?] peach... TOUCH: My new "Find Balance" art from Crafty Bastards On Sunday, my friend and I went to Crafty Bastards, an amazing juried art/craft show here in DC, that was filled with incredibly talented artisans and artwork. I wanted to buy about 10000 things, but limited myself to just two items--a feather tank top (which I'll share next week), and this (shown above) fabulous reclaimed sewn wood art from Little Green Things. I'm in love. This weekend, I'm looking forward to a girl's game night, babysitting for a friend, and celebrating our 1 year anniversary on Sunday (crazy!!!!). Here's to a weekend full of simple pleasures for us all! Comments are closed.
