As you can clearly see (above), after almost 8 years of sharing my Simple Joys of the Week every Friday, I've finally decided to switch from a mini-collage to just one pic of *one* of my simple joys, instead. I know, I know, it's a crazy thing to do (lol) but I'm doing it. I hope it works for you. [#simplifying]
How was your week? Wonderful, I hope! Here are some of the little pleasures that brought me joy over the past 7 days... HEAR: "Sweat" by RY X This song is one of my faves on my October class playlist. I play it near the end of class and each and every time (4x per week), I'm happy to hear it again. You can listen below: SEE: Double rainbow On Wednesday evening, while I was driving home from picking Charlie Mae up from daycare, we saw the double rainbow pictured above. It was majestic. I pulled the car over so that Charlie Mae could see her first rainbow and so that I could snap this pic. The craziest part was that I could see almost the entire thing--it was a full rainbow. It really did feel magical and somewhat spiritual. Charlie Mae was mesmerized, too! TASTE: Ben's homemade pancakes Ben has been on a made-from-scratch pancake roll and I am not upset about it. We've been having pancakes every Sunday for a few weeks now and it's been a great treat. SMELL: Seventh Generation Disinfectant Bathroom Cleaner-Lemongrass and Citrus When Charlie Mae started potty training, we bought this cleaner to clean out her little potty. Since then, it's become my go-to. Great scent, non-toxic, just spray and wipe. It's perfect for the very small amount of cleaning that I actually do (haha and eek and oops?). TOUCH: Morning snuggles with Sayde Sayde may be leaving us soon to go to her new home (*FINGERS CROSSED*/not saying much more about it until things are finalized and I'm sure it's really happening because too many options have fallen through at this point). Because of this heartbreaking [+ simultaneously very good] news, I've been spending way more time in bed snuggling with her each morning before heading downstairs to start the day. She is hands-down THE BEST snuggler in bed and I will miss her morning cuddles more than I can even bear to think about. Sigh. Also, I have to mention another huge #SJOTW that didn't fit into a category above: seeing Charlie Mae play make believe, or as she calls it, "tend" (for pretend). This week, for the first time in her little life, she's started creating these narratives and worlds in her head that she asks us to participate in. It's wild and hilarious to see what she comes up with (lots of pigs floating away in the water and we need to go get them, haha!!!). And there you go! I hope you have a fabulous fall weekend full of simple, sensory pleasures. Take some time to reflect on your #SJOTW today if you can! ;) Comments are closed.
