Not to be that person who does the annoying countdown every day until their big event, but holy hanumanasana, we move to Cape Cod in 8 days! YIKES. What are we doing? As you can tell, I'm totally on top of things and have completely accepted the fact that we're moving in a week ;) So, to distract myself from everything that has to be done in the next 8 days, I want to chat about simple, sensory joys. Here's what made me smile this week. What made you happy over the past 7 days or so? HEAR: "Silver Linings" by Kacey Musgraves Although I've been a fan for a while, I started listening to Same Trailer Different Park again lately (mostly while packing) and have loved rediscovering Musgraves' fabulous voice and music. This simple little song, "Silver Linings," just makes me happy. Such a beautiful message! You can listen below: SEE: Teacher Trainees
Last weekend, I taught my last (for now) session of Tranquil Space's 200 hr Teacher Training. Although things are kinda crazy at the moment, I was SO glad to be able to do this, as many of the ladies going through this round of teacher training are long-time students of mine. It's extremely inspiring to see students grow as they get deeper into training/their yoga journey, and I was honored to be able to be a part of it this past weekend. OMG, I'm going to miss the TS cOMmunity SOOOOOO much! Sigh. TASTE: Werther's Originals I know, extremely random, but here's the story: My therapist has a little bowl of Werther's in her office, and every week when I go to my appointment, I look at them and want one--but I never have one (I don't know why, I guess I'm nervous to take one?). So last week, after my appointment, I went straight to CVS and bought a bag. I had forgotten how good Werther's are! I've enjoyed one after dinner every night this week and they've been such a fun treat. {Does this make me sound 90 years old?} SMELL: Pinot Grigio On Wednesday evening, after teaching, I was able to enjoy some delicious wine + dinner with two of my longtime students and friends. It was a "goodbye" dinner, but it didn't feel sad--it felt wonderfully joyous and fun and I was so glad that we made time for each other before I move. The relationships that I've made here have forever changed my life, and I feel so lucky to have been touched by everyone I've met in DC. Oh no...here it comes again! So yeah, the wine was delish and I think I needed it to decompress a little ;) TOUCH: Hugs from Marshall (my adopted nephew/child/BFF?) Do you see that face in the pic above? That's the love of my life--Marshall--my friend Sara's son (you know, Sara who lent me like 20 of her dresses to paint for A Dress a Day?)! I got to spend some QT with Sara and Marshall this week, and I think Ben put it well when he said, after they left, that "Marshall is devastatingly cute." He really is. Gosh, I adore him. This weekend, we're packing. We'll take a break for a fun little going away gathering with some close friends on Saturday night, but otherwise, you can find me breathing deeply while surrounded by boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. Have I mentioned that packing is NOT a simple joy of the week? Just wanted to make that clear. I hope your week was full simple pleasures! Take some time to reflect today, if you can...

Good luck with the move. Getting through all the chaos is the hardest part. The fun part is finding all the things that have been hidden away for years. Comments are closed.
