A few of the simple, sensory pleasures that brought me joy this week... HEAR: "Let It Alone" by Collective Efforts (featuring Manchild) Yesterday, I was preparing a short list of song requests for the Hip Hop Yoga DJ for this weekend (woot woot!) and I came across this old gem. SUCH a good and uplifting song that makes me really, really happy. Can't wait to hear the DJ spin it in class on Saturday night! You can listen below: SEE: Houses Welp, we've started looking at houses with a real estate agent. And no, not to rent (for once!)--to buy! Because folks, we've decided we're definitely here to stay. We're only 1-week in to the search and house-hunting has already been full of ups-and-downs; it's been exciting and stressful and has added an extra dimension to our already full brains, but I have to say, I love it. We have until February (when our current lease runs out) to find something, so I'll keep you updated on the process as we delve deeper. But keep your fingers crossed for us, because weirdly enough, real estate on Cape Cod is a bit cutthroat ;) TASTE: Rice Cake PB+J Another pre-schooler snack, but I've gotta be honest because this has been my go-to treat this week: plain rice cake + thin layer of peanut butter + thin layer of jelly (100% fruit, obvs). Go to town. It's delicious!!! SMELL: Mrs. Meyer's Lavender Dryer Sheets Because of my sensitive skin, we use all free + clear/chemical-free laundry products, but recently--for the first time ever--our laundry was starting to smell a little eww. I made some changes to our products (trying to stay as eco-friendly and chemical-free as possible, of course), and decided to give these little dryer sheets a try. Oh, wow, do they smell loverly. Can't. Get. Enough. Lavender. Scent. TOUCH: Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty I'm using this book as my 'touch' for the week because I associate it with getting into bed early (which I've done almost every night) and reading more than I have in quite a while. You know when you're reading a book that is such a page-turner that you just can't wait to crawl into bed and find out what happens next? That was me this week. I just finished the book last night and I recommend it. It's a really suspenseful, fun read with quite a twist at the end! So there you go--VERY simple joys this week, but real life, just the same. What brought you joy over the past 7 days? I hope you can take some time to stop and reflect on them today... Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!
