What. A. Crazy. Week. I have a feeling this is how life is going to be until we move...but at least the government is now back open for business! Amidst all of the craziness, I'm happy to report that I was still able to enjoy many simple, sensory pleasures over the past week (including one of the first naps I've taken in months!), so lets discuss. What brought you joy over the past 7 days? HEAR: "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" (Usher Cover) by Sarah Winters [And the Cover Me blog!] Somehow, I had never heard of Cover Me until this week. Um, hello, where has it been all my life?!? It's a blog that shares good cover songs from all over the music world--what could be better? (Thank you for sharing it with me, Kelsey!) Anywho, as I explored it for the first time this week, I found this insane gem of a song by Sarah Winters. I mean, she makes this Usher song sound respectable and beautiful, which is craziness! Listen below and be prepared to smile :) SEE: Inspiring first session with a new consulting client
As my consulting business continues to grow, I'm having a BLAST helping people figure out how they can grow their online "brand" and set themselves up for a future filled with creativity. While working with a new client on Wednesday, I was extremely inspired by her passion, drive, and unique insight about the niche that she wants to get into. There are few things that make me as happy as discussing how to take steps towards living a more fulfilling life--I feel SO lucky to be able to spend more time doing this these days! TASTE: G Sandwich Tasting Menu First, let me just set the record straight and tell you that I am not a foodie--I know nothing about the cool chefs or new restaurants or the places to be on a Friday night--so I was pleasantly surprised when I found myself at G Sandwich for dinner last weekend. Some of our good friends treated us to a "going away" dinner there, and I was blown away by the food and the concept. For those who do know chefs, it's a new Mike Isabella restaurant, that is a sandwich shop by day and a restaurant by night. The food was out of this world and the vibe was very "in the know." It was a blast for a clueless diner like myself! SMELL: Fall Flowers from a Friend When your apartment is a total disaster and you can hardly walk around due to [empty] boxes piled up everywhere, receiving a bouquet of fresh flowers, some chocolate-covered almonds, a baby pumpkin, and a homemade ghost decoration is really refreshing. Just looking at this little collection of goodies makes me feel loved and encouraged. Yay! Thank you, Sara and Marshall! TOUCH: Cleansing [Or, donating 6+ bags of stuff to Goodwill!!] OMG, it felt SO good to get rid of so much stuff this week! You guys, you'll be proud to know that I donated many of the old dresses that I've painted, tons of pairs of shoes, random household items, AND a bunch of weird t-shirts that I've been lugging around for years. It felt AH-mazing. I love cleansing and plan to do even more of it this weekend! Other SJOTW? Dinner dates and quality time with friends (these events take on a new meaning as our time here dwindles), teaching my last seasonal restorative workshop at TSA (sigh...), yummy yoga classes, and changing weather (I love the cool mornings and evenings). I hope that you, too, were able to enjoy a week full of simple pleasures. If you get a chance, take some time to reflect on them today!

OMG how did I also not know about this Cover Me blog before?! I usually happen to stumble on great covers but I'm always searching for more. Yay! I love that I always find something awesome and new in your SJOTW :-)
