Oh you guys, I am so tired. We're just coming off of a week of brand new/weird baby sleep issues and I had forgotten what it feels like to be totally and completely wiped. I know it's just a strange developmental hiccup but man does everything else fall apart when you aren't sleeping!
However, despite our few rough bedtimes/nights, this week was still a really nice one full of simple, sensory pleasures. Here are a few of the things that brought me joy over the past 7 days... HEAR: Dirty John Podcast If you like true crime podcasts and haven't started listening to Dirty John yet, you MUST. It's a brand new 6-part series from the LA Times about a divorcee in her 50s who meets a seemingly perfect guy on a dating app, but of course he doesn't turn out to be who he says he is and things go crazy from there. It's really well-done and I promise you won't be able to stop listening. And it came at the perfect time; I was jonesing for a new Serial-esque story! SEE: Coming Clean: A Memoir by Kimberly Rae Miller When I finished what I was reading last week, I was browsing in the Kindle Store and saw that this book was {is?} free for Amazon Prime Members. So without knowing anything about it and just going by the number of 5-star reader reviews, I downloaded it and started reading. Woah. It's about the author's experience growing up with parents who are hoarders (her dad in particular) and it's one of those shocking-yet-moving stories that draws you right in to her world and makes you feel like you're there with her. I'm really enjoying it. TASTE: Anniversary Dinner at Villaggio Ristorante As I already mentioned in Monday's post, Ben and I went out on our first dinner date in FOREVER (almost a year?) last weekend and it was a blast. But what I didn't mention in my post was that the food we ate on our date was out of this world. I mean--best Italian meal either of us have had since we lived in NYC (!!!). We couldn't believe that we had never been to this little gem of a restaurant on Cape Cod before. A must-try if you're local! SMELL: Veggie Burger from Father's Kitchen + Taphouse We had a great week of eating! On Tuesday night we took an impromptu family outing to this local restaurant/bar for dinner and it was delicious. Not only was the veggie burger (+ sweet potato fries) super tasty, but Charlie Mae was also in a great mood and loving her food so I was able to eat my entire meal without having to get up and walk around with her once { = total win}. TOUCH: Beyond Yoga Infinity Scarf Just when you think you won't need another scarf ever again, one of the studios where you teach is selling the SOFTEST Infinity Scarf you've ever come across--and it's black and white striped just like the beloved Infinity Scarf that you wore nonstop for about 5 years until it mysteriously disappeared...so what's a girl to do? Buy said scarf from the yoga studio and start wearing it all the time as soon as the weather gets chilly enough, of course. And oh man is it snuggly ;) What brought you joy over the past 7 days? I urge you to take some time to reflect today if you can... Oh, and local yoga teachers: if you're planning on joining me for the Teaching Tune-Up Training Weekend that I'm hosting at Centerville Yoga next weekend, tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of the early bird pricing (save $20!). You can sign up here. Have a great weekend everyone! Comments are closed.
