A few of the simple, sensory pleasures that brought me joy this week... HEAR: "Track 4" by Sigur Ross I know, most boring song title ever and totally not memorable, but I promise, the song itself is very memorable. Another greatest hit (in my mind) from my October class playlist, it's worth a listen. Very pretty, very chill, very yeahhhhhh. Take a hear below: SEE: Friends in DC! Hooray! I've been here less than 24 hours and I'm already so thrilled to be reconnecting with my dear, dear friends in DC :) I'm staying with my friend Sara, in her new house (which I had never see before), and am getting to visit with her, her husband, and her two little boys, both of whom have grown leaps and bounds since I saw them last. Today I'm off to visit with another friend who just had a bebe (who I haven't even met yet!). It's so wonderful and also everyone has babies!!!! ;) TASTE: Anniversary Muffins [from The Hole In One] As you know, Ben and I have been off of added sugar for a while now, and I've still been semi-avoiding gluten, so it felt like a HUGE splurge to eat a dessert on our anniversary. Here's what we did: We went on an hour-long bike ride to our favorite muffin place on the Cape, bought one muffin each (Him: Pistachio Walnut, Her: Banana Walnut), put them in our backpack, and rode back home. We went to dinner, said no to dessert at dinner, and then came home, toasted our muffins, added a little buttah, and enjoyed. It was DECADENT and I kid you not, Ben closed his eyes and chewed slowly after almost every bite. Can you say mindful eating? ;) And yes, many "muffin for my muffin?" jokes were made. Great night. SMELL: The Marsh On our bike ride to pick up the above muffins (Muffin Ride 2K14?), we were able to take in some gorgeous New England fall scenery. We drove through the woods, changing leaves, by lakes, by cranberry bogs, and by beautiful houses. Then we went by one of the MOST beautiful marsh scenes I've ever seen, which is pictured above. And the coolest part? We could totally smell it as we rode towards it, so we pulled over and took in the sights and scents. Ahhhh. TOUCH: Comfy travel clothes I'm sorry, fashionable travelers, but I will never be one of you. I want to be, but it's just not me. When it comes to being crunched into small seats and folding my legs up to be as small as possible for the person next to me, I will always pick comfort over fashion. Not that I wear sweats or anything (give me some credit here, peeps!), but I go for the closest thing possible, which = stretchy jeans (or lets be honest, sometimes I wear Luon), oversized tunics (or just a basic sweatshirt), and my trusty TOMS. Yesterday's travel was no exception, and I swear, it really does make a difference. Another week, lots more to be grateful for! And my biggest SJOTW of all? The fact that I am blessed with the opportunity and ability to travel, the chance to reconnect with the people and places that are important to me, and the fact that I have such a wonderful husband (of 2 years) and dog-child (of almost 1 year) waiting for me at home. What brought you happiness this week? Oh, and due to the fact that I'm traveling and want to spend every waking moment here with friends and/or teaching/taking yoga at Tranquil Space, there will be no Roundup tomorrow. See you again on Monday!
