A few of the simple, sensory pleasures that brought me joy this week... HEAR: "Tenere Taqqim Tossam" by Tinariwen I made my new November class playlist this week, and I don't mean to toot my own horn, but toot toot, I think it's a good one ;) You can check out the new playlist here and listen to one of my fave songs from the playlist below : SEE: Yes Please by Amy Poehler Ahhh! Amy Poehler is so funny! I think everyone I know is reading this book right now, but just in case you aren't, I def urge you to pick it up. Her writing is so witty and so different and of course, so hysterical, that it's just plain fun in book form. Plus, there's something about the book that makes me feel like we're all in this together--you, me, Amy, Tina--the whole gang! ;) TASTE: Seaweed Salad What do you guys think of seaweed salad? Have you ever had it? It's one of my FAVORITE things to order when out to sushi, and although I have no proof/no real info to back it up (although I'm sure a quick google would do the trick), I hear it's great for you. I was lucky enough to have some last weekend and was reminded of how much I love it--such a fun and exotic (for me) little treat! SMELL: Tazo Wild Sweet Orange Tea Holy tea. I was in the mood for a new, fruiter, caffeinated tea option, so I picked up this package last weekend, having never had any orange tea before. It is incredible! I made Ben try it and he was shocked at how much flavor this little teabag is packing. It's perfect for an afternoon cup and I've been enjoying it after lunch this week. Oh, and I should mention that the scent is just as divine as the taste! It's a good one. TOUCH: Listing sheets + plot plans Okay, so this doesn't sound very sensory or enjoyable, but my life has been all about house-hunting this week, and these documents (that I've been holding in my hands as we go from house to house) represent all of the emotions that are tied up in this big process that we've begun. It's really exciting, I've loved looking at all of these different houses, and although, yes, the process is also stressful, I'm very grateful to be moving towards putting down roots. It's a very comfy feeling for me. Other SJOTW? Working on some fun new paintings, a party for Ben's boss (the DA), who was reelected (so Ben's job will be around for another 4 years--hooray!), yoga (obvs), and cuddling up on the couch with Ben and Sayde during all of the rainstorms we've been having. What made you smile over the past 7 days? I hope your week was full of simple pleasures, too ;) Have a splendiferous Friday, everyone!
