A few of the simple, sensory pleasures that brought me joy this week...
HEAR: New yoga sequences and cues I learned a lot last weekend at Kripalu. I came away with so many new sequencing ideas, new cues, new poses to teach (some that I had never seen before!), new transitions, and new techniques, that my brain was full. Schyuler Grant (the teacher) taught in a way that I have never seen or heard before, and I was blown away by the sophistication and precision of her cueing. I left chock full of inspiration, and teaching has been super exciting + challenging this week. Yay! SEE: Sayde wearing her sweater (so freaking cute!) I know that I was only gone for about 60 hours last weekend, but it felt like an eternity away from little Say-Say. I was overjoyed to come home to her (and Ben, of course) on Sunday, and couldn't wait to get back to our normal walk + cuddle routine. This week, I took her on multiple walks in the woods, and of course it was so cold outside that I had to make her wear her sweater. She hates her sweater (as you can see in the pic above), but it is the cutest thing EVER. I'm sorry, but it gets me every time... TASTE: Kripalu's Buddha Bar The food at Kripalu was delicious. I mean, really tasty. It was a good thing that we were doing yoga all weekend and therefore couldn't go too crazy/get too full, because I could have eaten at that buffet forever. My favorite part, however, was the Ayurvedic-influenced Buddha Bar, which was super healthy, balancing, and amazingly-spiced. Cilantro mint chutney, anyone? Yes, please. SMELL: Hot herbal tea in my new Klean Kanteen Insulated travel mug Okay, so this one is more about the mug than it is about the scent of the tea, but will you look at this adorable mug that I got last weekend at Kripalu? I just had to buy it because the mugs/travel cups that they provided only held about one sip of liquid, and I'm a thirsy girl (plus I forgot a mug from home...oh well!). I'm super excited about using this baby all winter and I LOVE the color (are you surprised?). TOUCH: Hot Epsom Salt bath Last night, my normal Thursday night private client was canceled, so I decided to go to a yoga class for myself, instead. I was planning on doing this all week long, and I even went as far as to get dressed for yoga and put on my coat--and then something (pure exhaustion?) made me stop as I was walking out the door. I took off my coat, called Ben telling him I was staying home, and went straight upstairs to start up a hot bath, instead. I literally went from the front door to the bathtub, and it was an amazing decision. Then I tried to let go of my guilt about skipping yoga and enjoy the moment, just as I told all of you to do in yesterday's post ;) See? I'm trying to take my own advice here!!? And there you have it. What brought you happiness this week? I hope you'll take some time to pause and reflect today... Have a wonderful weekend! We have our home inspection (on the new house--eek!) tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed for us! More on this very soon, I promise ;)
