I just got back from taking my last (for now) yoga class at Tranquil Space. Sigh. Tear. Boo. Blah. Argh. Waaah. Sniff. {And all other things you say when you're sad/don't like something.}
Since thinking about that is making me depressed, lets talk about something else--like simple, sensory joys of the week! Since this week was chock full of them, and I can't possibly narrow it down to one simple pleasure for each category, I'm going with a list for each sensory experience today. What made you smile this week? Here's what warmed my heart... HEAR: What I've been listening to while packing--99% Invisible Podcast, Britney Spears Pandora Station (I'm not ashamed to admit it! I used this station to get myself pumped up when I got tired yesterday...), Fresh Air, and Jordan, Jesse, Go! SEE: All of the wonderful people who came out to our going away get-together on Saturday night, amazing students and friends, thoughtful gifts, cards, and emails, and of course, Ben's new video series here on the blog, Malebox ;) TASTE: The best cookies I've ever had (made from scratch by our going-away shingdig host, Sara), delicious fruit skewers, homemade spinach & artichoke dip, "Cape Cods/Cape Codders," and of course, a few pieces of Halloween candy ;) SMELL: China gel, lavender spray, incense, mints, delicious candles burning--all of the scents of my yoga hOMe, Tranquil Space. I've been trying to soak them (sniff them?) up this week, so that I can carry these soothing scents with me... TOUCH: Big hugs from students, colleagues, and friends (can't get enough of them this week), cutest homemade fish costume EVER made, packing tape (there's just something really satisfying about using it to close up each box!), and getting into bed each night (I've been bone tired this week!). Today, I teach my last Friday noon class, and tonight, my last (for now) Hip Hop Yoga class. Tomorrow morning, we load up and drive to Cape Cod. Wow. I hope your week was full of simple pleasures, and that you can find some time to reflect on them (and appreciate them!) today! Catch you on the flip side ;)

I'm also not ashamed to say that the Britney Spears Pandora station is pretty fabulous! Comments are closed.
