It's almost the weekend, y'all! Hip hip hooray! What do you have planned? My weekend is looking very full, but I think it will be a good one--lots o' yoga teaching and hopefully a trip to Provincetown, if the weather holds up (and my stick-in-the-mud husband doesn't back out, hehe!). But before we jump into full weekend mode, lets take a moment to reflect on the past week, shall we? What brought you joy? My simple, sensory pleasures are below... HEAR: 80's Yoga Class Playlist As you have probably heard/seen (since I've been talking about it on FB quite a bit!), I'm teaching an 80's yoga class tonight. I'm obviously super excited about this and cannot wait to throw my hair into a side pony, swipe on some blue eyeshadow, and teach yoga to crazy music. I know that themed yoga classes can be controversial in the yoga world, but I think it's fun to mix things up, to remind yourself not to take yoga/life too seriously, and to practice to non-traditional music every once in a while. Yoga can be serious, yes, but it can also be silly and fun and I think that's okay! Anyways, I've made the playlist for tonight's class, have been listening to it all week, and I'm eager to teach to it. One of the fun songs from the playlist is below... SEE: harlowandsage Instagram Feed Okay, you guys, I know that I mentioned harlowandsage in last week's Roundup, but since discovering these little doogies, they have brought me SO much joy that I felt they were worth mentioning again (and going into in a bit more detail). As I understand it, the harlowandsage instagram account started as a place to share pics of the amazing BFF dogs Harlow and Sage (SO SWEET). Then Sage passed away at 13 (SO SAD), so Harlow got a new little sister, Indiana (SO CUTE!). The feed shares amazing pics, hysterical videos, and great news about these ADORABLE dogs. Ben and I are both smitten and could look at the feed for hours. Also, these pics make Sayde want a sister!!!!! TASTE: KIND Cinnamon Oat Clusters Granola A few weeks ago, I fell in love with this brand of granola. Each morning since then, I pour myself a bowl, add a sliced up banana + a few sliced strawberries, a handful of walnuts, and some shredded coconut. Add a little milk and voila, delicious breakfast! I seriously wake up excited about eating it. Don't you love when you find a new breakfast option that makes you happy? I'm sure I'll go back to oatmeal soon, but this granola is a great warm-weather alternative. SMELL: Pickled Ginger I am obsessed with ginger. Ugh, I love it. Last weekend my friend and I went to a Japanese restaurant here on the Cape [Inaho, if you're local--it's amazing!], and it was honestly the first time I'd had Japanese in at least 7 months (since way before we moved here!). I had veggie rolls and seaweed salad and loads of ginger and it was amazing. I left full but totally satisfied. And oh, that ginger. I want to go back this weekend... TOUCH: First walk on the beach [of the season] without shoes! Ever since moving to the Cape in November, it's been way too cold to walk on the beach sans boots/shoes. However, this week it finally got warm enough and I was lucky enough to take two (2!!!!) long walks on the beach without my shoes. It felt amazing to have the sand in between my toes and to dip my feet into the FREEZING ocean water, and I am just overwhelmed with gratitude for the fact that we now live by the beach. So, there you have it! Super simple, super wonderful. I hope that your week was full of life's little pleasures, small victories, and moments of joy... Here'e to a weekend full of more of the same!
