Another week has come and gone, and despite it raining almost all day every day since Monday, I was still able to enjoy quite a few simple, sensory joys over the past 7 days. How about you? How was your week? Lets take a moment to reflect on our simple pleasures [with gratitude], shall we? HEAR: Bey's Lemonade {of course} I may be a week late in buying this album, but a week late or not, it's ALL I have been playing over the past couple of days and I'm thoroughly obsessed. I want to know the story behind it, I want to get all of the details that I possibly can (is it a super smart business move orchestrated by Bey + J or is it truly about J's infidelity + their relationship???), and although I didn't think it was possible, I'm now more in love with Beyonce than I was before this album dropped (!!!). You can listen to one of my favorite songs, "Hold Up," below: SEE: Orders for my new tank design coming in! Thanks SO much to all of you who have ordered one of my new tanks! As usual, your support and excitement is super appreciated and I'm thrilled to get these tanks in-hand and shipped out to you. Haven't ordered yours yet? Today is the last day to pre-order (and get a free gift with your order)--after today you'll have to order from my inventory, which won't be huge, but should be stocked with few extra of each size ;) TASTE: Ben's Birthday Cake On Sunday night, we had some family members over to celebrate Ben's birthday. As is our birthday tradition, I made him my mom's homemade Sour Cream Pound Cake (the same cake that we had at our wedding, the same cake that my mom has made for me every birthday for as long as I can remember, and the very same cake that Ben and I have now made for each other for every birthday since we've lived together), and as usual, it was delicious. I had a piece during the celebration, and then in an unprecedented move (and all thanks to the babe living in my belly), I didn't have another piece all week. It was hard as I watched Ben eat cake every night after dinner, but I persevered and tried to just be thankful for the piece that I was able to enjoy on Sunday... SMELL: Centerville Pies warming in the oven There's a little local pie shop around the corner that was made famous by Oprah on a trip she made to the Cape years ago, and they sell dinner pies (as opposed to dessert pies) that are out of this world. To keep Ben's birthday celebration easy, we got a few of these pies to feed our guests, and they were super tasty and smelled amazingly homey and nurturing. Nothing like comfort food that you don't have to make yourself! ;) TOUCH: Maternity Clothes Although I didn't think I'd need a lot of maternity clothes before I got pregnant ("I wear stretchy/flowy yoga clothes all day, I'll be fine and everything will just stretch!"), I was wrong. Most of my regular clothes just look weird, stretched, unflattering, and/or simply don't fit anymore now that I'm getting bigger. So, I've been slowly accumulating maternity clothes here and there over the past few months and I've really grown to appreciate them. I picked up a few more tops at a consignment sale last weekend, and they *really* do make a difference in how I look and feel. So there you go. I hope you can find some time to reflect back on your favorite simple, sensory joys of the week today...it's such a great exercise in gratitude. Have a wonderful first weekend in May, everyone!
