Not to brag, but I'm headed to the beach on Sunday. I know! Somehow, I've been traveling all of the time lately, but I promise that this is not the norm for me, so although it's kind of crazy, I'm just trying to go with it and enjoy it. I'm calling this trip my "rehab" trip, as I'm hoping that it will give me the space that I need to disconnect from my addiction to email, from my weird need to be "working" all of the time, and from being the Tranquil Space Studio Director (Today is my last official day in this role! Eek!). But, before I turn my attention to heading out of town, lets talk simple, sensory joys of the week. What made you happy over the past seven days or so? My simple pleasures are are as follows... HEAR: "Pretty Face" by Soley A fellow Tranquil Space-ian sent this song to me, saying she thought that I would like it, and she was right (obviously). I love it. I actually bought Soley's entire album because of this song, so thanks for introducing me to this voice, Stacey! You can listen to this beautiful song below (and look for it on next month's class playlist!). SEE: Chevron Cooler Tote
So dorky, I know, but I was really excited when I found this little cooler tote--just in time for the beach! I think I *kind of* used the beach as an excuse to buy it ("When can I use this? Oh, at the beach!"), because I just really loved the chevron pattern. Who isn't obsessed with chevron these days, anyways? Hope I get some actual use out of this adorable little guy... TASTE: Blackberries I know I've probably mentioned my love of all summer berries before, but it's that time again, and I'm over the moon that they're back. This week, I enjoyed some delicious blackberries--an entire package, actually--and I think they're going to be my new go-to after-dinner treat, while they're in season. Just a few are just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth! SMELL: Fresh air, freshly-mown grass, the scent of flowers in the breeze = being outdoors in the spring!! Last weekend was perfect. Ben and I went on a two hour walk together on a local trail on Sunday, and it was everything I'd hoped for and more. I loved being outside, the scents, the sounds, walking hand-and-hand with my sweetie, having good conversation AND strolling side-by-side in silence. I've been obsessed with long walks outside lately, and am so grateful for the long weekend that allowed us to spend that time together. TOUCH: Nightly Epsom Salt Baths (+ Massage) Ever since I tweaked my back last week, I've taken self care to a whole different level. Since last Thursday, I've been to the chiropractor 4 times, gotten a deep tissue massage, iced at least 3 times each day, and taken 5 long Epsom Salt baths. I think I'm going to start making nightly Epsom Salt baths a part of my routine, as I noticed that I fell asleep much faster on the nights that I took them. Plus, it gives me some time to read all of the magazines that I get in the mail and never have time to read ;) Other SJOTW? Meeting a friend's ADORABLE new puppy (2.5 pounds!), grilling out in the park, subbing 3 extra yoga classes (something I never get the chance to do!), dinner at Cava Mezze with good friends, savoring a cup of gelato, and painting yesterday. So wonderful. I hope that you, too, had a week FULL of moments of gratitude, beauty, and happiness. Here's to a weekend full of more of the same! Comments are closed.
