This was such a good week! There's no one reason in particular, it's just been enjoyable, and it's always nice when regular old, everyday life is enjoyable, ya know? Because it isn't always and I'm very aware of that.
How was your week? I hope wonderful, and I hope you can take a few minutes to reflect on your simple, sensory joys of the week today. Mine are below... HEAR: "Ode to My Family" by The Cranberries Do you remember this song? Or this band? OMG, 90's music, you were so great. I took a lovely yoga class this week (Hooray for me! It felt SO good!) in which the teacher had this song on her playlist and it took me back. I used to have this album (can't remember if it was a tape or a CD?) and I loved it. It was so fun to hear this song, which I had completely forgotten about, and when I got home I listened to the entire album on Spotify. Total throwback but it still holds up. {You can listen to this song to jog your memory here.} SEE: "You Should've Asked" Illustrated Blog Post by Emma This blog post was making the rounds in my mommy groups and on my FB friends' news feeds this week and if you haven't seen it yet, I encourage you to read it. It illustrates [in a very simple, straightforward way] how "the mental load" that women--and in particular, moms--take on around the household makes them feel crazed, overwhelmed, and resentful, and then it gives a few ideas on how to stop the cycle. A must-read! TASTE: Strawberries I know it's not officially strawberry season yet, but they were on sale at Whole Foods this week so I picked some up for Charlie Mae to try (and for me to eat, too, obviously). While Charlie Mae just nibbled and made weird faces at the new taste and texture (which was adorable, of course), I ate the majority of the berries over the course of the week. Delicious. SMELL: Sandy Neck Beach We hadn't been to the beach as a family yet this spring and we finally went last weekend. While it wasn't swimsuit weather yet, it was still glorious and so fun to relax on the sand, show Charlie Mae the water, and enjoy the breeze on our skin. And of course, that beachy smell that we all know and love was a dream to behold. I'm so excited for it to get warmer so that we can go every weekend (or day?)! TOUCH: Charlie Mae "Smooches" If there's one thing that simply SLAYS me, it's Charlie Mae's new obsession with giving kisses. She has become a kissing queen and Ben and I swoon every time that she looks up at us and leans in for a kiss with her little lips parted. It's to die for and we can't get enough. Although I should mention that while these kisses were always something special that just the 3 of us shared, yesterday when I picked her up from daycare I was told that she'd been "giving everyone kisses" all day, so I guess they're no longer reserved for just mom and dad (haha!). What can I say? The girl is a lover. {Oh, and Charlie Mae turned 9 months old this week! Can you believe it? Thanks for all the love on social media when I posted her 9-month pics.} That's it for this week! How excited are you for Memorial Day Weekend? We're pumped! FYI: I'll be taking Monday off from blogging (and hopefully off from everything in order to be fully present with the fam) so will see you back here on Wednesday. I hope you have a lovely long weekend *full* of simple joys! Comments are closed.
