I'm headed to Costa Rica tomorrow! I'm so excited! Yes, this is for the Art + Asana retreat that I'm co-leading with Kimberly Wilson, and I am *really* looking forward to a week full of yoga, creativity, sunshine, + healthy, fresh food (to die for).
{Hooray!} But first, lets look back on the simple, sensory pleasures that I was lucky enough to experience over the past week. What brought you joy? My SJOTW are below... HEAR: StartUp, Season 2 If you like podcasts and you aren't listening to StartUp, you need to start NOW. It's one of my favorite podcasts out there and I just can't say enough good things about it. Season 1 was amazing, so if you haven't listened, you should definitely go back and do so, but Season 2 started a few weeks ago and it has been just as good. It's one of those podcasts that I listen to ASAP when it comes out, and get super excited about listening to each week. Can't wait to listen to this week's episode as I pack today! SEE: Costa Rica creative supplies I ordered all of the supplies for the creative portions of our Costa Rica retreat last week, and ever since they arrived, they've been sitting in a neat little stack on the floor of my studio. Every time that I walked by that stack this week, I felt a little twinge of excitement about the trip. You know how they say that looking forward to upcoming events brings you more joy and excitement than the actual event (even if the actual event is totally amazing)? I experienced that phenomenon this week ;) TASTE: Burrito at Mi Pueblo Whenever we move, Ben and I don't *really* feel at home until we've found a local burrito place to frequent on the regs. Until two weeks ago, we were burrito-less in our new hood--but then, we found Mi Pueblo (thanks for the recommendation, Geneva!). It's a hole-in-the-wall with little-to-no ambiance, but it's authentic, delicious, family-owned, and we can't get enough. Cape Cod peeps, go there if you haven't yet: Mi Pueblo on Main Street in Hyannis. Wow. SMELL: Cookies baking in the oven... Ben is on a homemade cookie roll. He can't stop baking cookies. It's cute, but it's also kind of annoying because there are lots of weird dynamics/issues surrounding the cookie baking ["Aren't you glad you have a husband who makes cookies from scratch?" "Why don't you ever bake cookies for the household?" "Aren't my cookies the best thing you've ever eaten?" You get the idea...] Either way, the smell of freshly-baked cookies wafting around the house has been wonderful. And it is fun having a husband who bakes ;) TOUCH: Mulch So weird, I know, but we spread mulch in our front yard for the first time [ever] last weekend, and it was really gratifying. I had no idea it would make such a difference in how the yard looks, and I have to say, it was really fun working in the yard because it was a GORGEOUS weekend and it gave us a great excuse to be outside (instead of inside, painting, which was the alternative). Oh, and Sayde *LOVED* rolling around--er, swimming--in the mulch. She looked like a happy baby splashing around in the bathtub! It was really funny and made for a lovely day. That's it for me! What about you? Hope all of you out there in blogland have a GREAT long weekend chock full o' SJOTW... I'll be posting from Costa Rica next week, so I'll see you then! Oh, and the Season #1 finale of Starr Struck Radio drops on Tuesday (we recorded it last night!), so if you haven't caught up yet, you can use this weekend to do so ;) Comments are closed.
