Well, if I've learned anything from my 2 years of blogging post (and your wonderful, sweet, heartfelt comments), it's that many of you really relate to and appreciate "Simple Joys of the Week." I'm so glad to hear this, because I really like writing this column, as well, so thanks for the encouragement :) Therefore, without further ado, lets jump right in and chat about our SJOTW! Here's what made me happy this week (+ lots of lingering memories from my ski trip...). What made you feel grateful or lighter over the past 7 days? HEAR: "Better Man Than He" by Sivu I came across this song on a blog, immediately downloaded it and added it to my March playlist, and have been loving it every since. You can listen below, but I also highly recommend listening while watching the music video, as the entire video was filmed inside of an MRI machine (I know!). SEE: This super simple but really wonderful "Oreogami" video (you just have to watch to understand)... People are so creative and great. I love it that the filmmakers spent time creating this--what a wonderful little piece of entertainment ;) TASTE: Vino I don't drink very much, but when I do, it's wine--always wine ;) On our trip to Utah, we had wine every single night with dinner, and I really enjoyed it. The meals were amazing, as was the company, and I truly enjoyed each sip of my vino each evening. It felt like such a special occasion, and sipping a relaxing glass of wine after a long day on the slopes was the perfect way to end each night. SMELL: Snow + the great outdoors I know I've been going on and on about this for a week now, but really, I just can't get over how amazing it was to be outside in Alta. I felt so EXPANSIVE--there's just not another word for it. Being among magical mountains and surrounded by snow really puts everything into perspective, and the scent of fresh air, snow, and nature was a great change from the smell of the city. I miss it. TOUCH: Time in the hot tub Um, can I get a hot tub in my apartment building so that I can retire to the bubbles every night? Last weekend, I quickly got *very* used to spending my days skiing, my afternoons in the hot tub, and my evenings dining with my family. These, my friends, are the simple joys in life. Being treated and pampered sure is luxurious, isn't it? So there you have it. Another one of my big SJOTW this week was celebrating 2 years blogging. Thanks SO much for all of your kind notes and great feedback about my blog. There are still two days left to enter my giveaway, which ends Sunday night, so please stop by and leave a comment if you haven't already! I hope you have a weekend that is filled with lots of special moments and small sensory pleasures... Namaste! Mary Catherine PS. If you're in the DC/VA area, join me at TSA for my "Jump Into Yoga 2" workshop on Saturday from 5-7:30pm! Comments are closed.
