Welp, after days and days of rain and cold weather it looks like we're finally going to have a gorgeous weekend here on the Cape and I cannot wait! I even bought Charlie Mae some baby sunglasses in preparation for the impending sunshine (Babiators, to be exact)...
But I know, I'm getting ahead of myself; before we jump into the weekend we should take a moment to reflect on the past 7 days! What brought you joy this week? My favorite simple, sensory joys are below. HEAR: "Ohio (Filous Remix)" by Damien Jurado I don't know *anything* about this artist or song except that I found it on Spotify, liked it, added it to my class playlist this month, and have been really enjoying it ever since. You can listen here. SEE: New season of Master of None Have you watched this Netflix show yet? It's SO good! I mean, you have to like Aziz Ansari's humor to like it (which I know not everyone does), but if you do, it's the best. Ben and I started Season 2 last weekend and are almost through the entire thing already (the episodes are only 20 mins long, which is perfect for tired, overworked parents like us). Fun fun! TASTE: Almond-Crusted Salmon at the Roadhouse Cafe We went out to dinner as a family last weekend (shout-out Early Bird Special!) and I got an incredible salmon dish that I am calling the best salmon I've ever had. It was a special at this local restaurant but I wish it was always on the menu because I would go there all the time just to get it if it was. SO good. SMELL: Honest Shampoo + Body Wash in Sweet Orange Vanilla After hearing great things about The Honest Co.'s Shampoo + Body Wash (in-one), I decided to pick some up and try it for myself. I don't know whether or not it's making any difference in how my hair or skin looks, but I will say that the scent is magnificent and quite the simple pleasure when taking a shower. These days, showers feel like my luxurious me-time, so I'll take whatever additions I can get ;) TOUCH: Charlie Mae's little hands as she pulls up to stand Charlie Mae is obsessed with pulling up to stand (still no crawling yet, though), and is basically doing it all day, every day on whatever she can get her hands on. Often, that's me--my shirt, my leg, my hands, my arms, whatever. She even tried to pull up to standing using the string on one of my hoodies the other day, haha! It's the cutest and nothing feels sweeter than her little hands feeling around on my body for a stronghold... Oh, and I should also mention that I got my first pedicure IN MONTHS this week and it was divine. I had to bring my laptop and work while I was getting it done, but still! Good stuff. I hope you can find some time to reflect on your SJOTW today, too. Have a lovely weekend--you deserve it! Comments are closed.
