I was going to try not to say anything about time today, but then I sat down to write this and couldn't contain myself...you guysssss...these weeks! How can life go by so quickly?
Tomorrow Charlie Mae is 10 months old and we’re just over a week out from July 4th. Holy cow. I’m sorry for always blabbering on and on about time flying, but come onnn! I hope you had a lovely week--we certainly did! It was one of those weeks that was totally normal, but also great because we were just living and everyday life is wonderful these days (despite the fact that I have itchy poison ivy on my face for the second time in two months…I blame Sayde!). Anyways, lets take some time to reflect on our simple joys of the week, shall we? Here are a few of the simple pleasures that made me happy over the past 8 days... HEAR: “Water Dog” by Kelly McFarling This talented singer/musician is one of my dad’s former students and one of my former classmates’ sisters (from WAAAAYYYY back in about 2nd grade or so). Her mother also helped to take care of my stepmother when she was in hospice, so we have quite a few connections to her family. I’ve been listening to her recent album while working this week and I really like it. She has a beautiful voice and her songs are both haunting and comforting at the same time. You can listen to the full album below: SEE: Snapchat Oh man…I know I’m *crazy late* to the Snapchat game and I sound like my parents when they finally got on Facebook, but Snapchat is SO fun! My main problem is that now that I understand it and love snapping (my snaps = mostly me and Charlie Mae wearing headdresses and making faces, haha), I need more friends on it so I can have more fun. If you’re on snapchat, add me + send me a snap so we can connect! My username is starrstruckblog (obvs). TASTE: Ruby Red Grapefruit Polar Seltzer I know you guys know what a seltzer household we are, but now that it’s gotten warm outside we’ve been putting seltzer away at an even more impressive rate. But it’s the best—whenever I get Charlie Mae down for her afternoon nap, cracking open a cold can of seltzer while I sit down to work feels like a huge treat. This week we bought a pack of the grapefruit flavor and it’s delicious! I love grapefruit everything. SMELL: Vegetable Baby Mum Mums These little organic teething crackers are great. We get the veggie kind that are made of just vegetable powder and rice (no added sugar), and Charlie Mae loves them. They're the perfect distraction for her when she starts to get cranky in the car, on a walk, or out running errands; when I pull them out they always keep her occupied and happy until we get home ;) She loves crunching down on them with her 3 teeth and I love how her adorable little hands smell after she's been eating them. Have you noticed that I love everything about her? ;) TOUCH: Rapid Egg Cooker Remember how I mentioned hard boiled eggs as one of my SJOTW a few weeks ago? Well, soon after that, we got this quick egg maker that was recommended by a friend, and it has been a game changer in the egg department. It makes making hard boiled eggs SUPER easy, so now I have no excuse for not having them on hand at all times. It’s so great to have this healthy snack available whenever I need a protein pick-me-up! Highly recommend this affordable little gadget. And there you have it; another week in the bag. I hope you had a wonderful week, too, and can take some time to reflect on your SJOTW today... Have a fabulous weekend! Comments are closed.
