Hello there, Friday + last day in July! Wow, another month has just flown by...
SJOTW is a tad bit late today because I'm on baby time in TN...we've been staying up into the wee hours of the night to help my friend, Jessica, with her sweet newborn baby, and then sleeping in to make up for the lost time (sadly, she doesn't get to sleep in like we do...). Totally off my schedule but wouldn't trade it for the world! Anyways, this week has been FULL of simple joys, so lets get right to it. Here are a few of the things that brought me joy over the past week: HEAR: Flight Attendant's announcement that we'd finally landed in Knoxville... On Wednesday, I had a travel day from hell. I'll spare you the details, but basically, due to a flight cancelation and tons of delays, in order to get to Knoxville from Boston I had to go DC, then Dallas, THEN Knoxville. Didn't get in until midnight but I was thrilled when I finally arrived! Side note: My baggage didn't make it, obviously. Nothing like flying these days! ;) SEE: Family (Dad + Brother) and BFFs (Laura + Jessica) This has been such a great week full of visits with loved ones! I got a brief visit with my dad and brother from Sunday-Wednesday AM and now I'm in Tennessee with my two dear friends and Jessica's newborn baby, Samuel. I'm so grateful to get to spend time with all these amazing peeps this week! TASTE: Cookie Cake Yesterday, we celebrated Laura's 30th (a bit belated) with an old favorite from our college days, cookie cake. It was a good as ever and we didn't even mind that it stained all of our teeth pink. Yum. Some things are always tasty, no mater how many chemicals they're made with ;) SMELL: The scent of newborn baby Basically all of my simple joys this week could have been centered around sweet baby Samuel. He's incredible and I'm so in love! Everything about him is amazing and perfect and as usual, I am just in awe of the whole pregnancy + birth process. I can't believe my friend made him! Meeting him at this age has been a total gift. TOUCH: Adorable baby blankets + tiny clothes (and of course holding and snuggling with Samuel!!!) Had to include one more baby-related simple joy; I can't get over all of the cuddly, soft, adorable little clothing items and handmade blankets and swaddles! Could the clothing (and toes, fingernails, nose, hands) be any tinier? And with that, I'm gong to go enjoy my last day in TN! What brought you joy this week? Be sure to ponder and take the time to reflect today, if you can! Also, just a little reminder that Sunday is the last day to pre-order my new (and first!) eBook, How to Earn a Living Teaching Yoga: A Business Guide for Teachers. All who pre-order receive a special bonus chapter {details here}. Thanks to all of you have pre-ordered so far, I'm so glad you're excited to read this book! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Hope it's full of simple pleasures... Comments are closed.
