Not that I'm counting or anything, but every time that I sit down to write SJOTW, it means another week has passed and thus, I'm one week closer to my due date. It's crazy! This week I'm about 3 weeks out and I simply cannot believe it. Obviously, since we're getting so close to meeting our little girl, my SJOTW will probably continue to be somewhat baby-related for a while...so, if you're sick of baby talk, feel free to ignore these posts for the next couple of installments :) What made your week special? What simple pleasures were you able to enjoy over the past 7 days? Some of my favorite simple, sensory joys of the week are below... HEAR: "Wash it Away" by Nahko And Medicine for the People Yet another song that made my July playlist (which will be used for the last time tomorrow morning), I've loved hearing this tune while teaching over the past month. It's such a good one and always makes me super happy! You can listen below: SEE: Ben eating oysters ;) Earlier this month, Ben fell in love with Oysters for the first time. Despite growing up on the Cape, somehow he had never eaten them until recently, and now he's obsessed. On Sunday night we went out to one of our favorite summer dinner spots, and Ben split some oysters with his cousin; I swear, I haven't seen him that excited or carefree in a long time. It was really sweet and I loved seeing him so happy and relaxed. TASTE: Cake from Cottage Bakery On Tuesday night, Petra, the sweet owner of Orleans Yoga (one of the studios where I teach here on the Cape), threw me a small baby shower at the studio. Even though this is an insane time of year for locals, she took the time to put together an amazing little shindig, complete with a delicious cake from a local bakery (decorated by one of the studio's students who works there, of course). It was SO tasty and it was such a special evening. Thanks to all of the teachers who came out late on a Tuesday night! SMELL: Fresh Pink Roses I'd forgotten how wonderful roses smell! I was given these pink roses to take home from the baby shower on Tuesday night, and I've been enjoying their scent {and the splash of color that they add to our dining room table} all week. So lovely! TOUCH: Baby kicks/constant movement Our little babe has been REALLY moving these days. It must be because she's pretty big now + running out of room, but her movements feel so exaggerated and even uncomfortable at times (I can feel my organs being moved...it's SO weird!). That being said, I LOVE it. Every time she moves, I feel even more connected to her and can imagine her little body just curled up and getting repositioned in my belly. Pregnancy is pretty freaking magical. So there you go! I hope that your week was equally full of simple joys, and that you're able to find the time to reflect on them today. Have a wonderful weekend!
