What a HOT week, huh? I know it may not be hot where you are, but from what I've seen on social media it seems like the entire East Coast has been in a heat wave, and man, does it have me craving a trip to the beach. I'm hoping we can make it today! Fingers crossed that our schedule allows this dream to happen ;)
Besides being hot, how was your week? I hope you had a good one. Charlie Mae sprouted two new teeth over the past few days so we've been dealing with some [understandable] crankiness around here, but otherwise, things have been fairly status quo in our world. Here are a few of the simple, sensory pleasures that brought me joy over the past week... HEAR: "CrazySexyCool" by TLC I heard "Creep" by TLC on the radio the other day and it got me thinking about this entire album and how. many. times. I listened to it when I was younger. And of course, thinking about it made me want to listen to the entire album again, so I did and it took me WAAAYYYY back. Wow. I love when music does that. If you, too, loved this album and want a nice blast from the past, you can listen to "Creep" here. SEE: Charlie Mae crawling Welp, just a week before turning 11 months old, our sl0w-to-crawl little mover began crawling this week. She's a cautious one so she's taken her time exploring crawling for quite a while now, but she made it official on Tuesday and it has been SO cute to watch. I love how proud she is and how quickly she has made it into a game ("look how fast I can crawl away from you while looking back at you!"). TASTE: Early Bird Multi Seed bread from Whole Foods I always forget what a difference yummy bread makes until I have a sandwich with noticeably delicious bread. When we went grocery shopping last weekend they were out of the bread that we normally get, so I picked up this kind instead and have been pleasantly surprised by how much I've been loving it this week. Even Ben said something about the "new good bread" when referencing making a PB&J earlier this week, so it sounds like our family's official bread has changed! SMELL: Scented Cleaning Products We hired someone to refinish our back deck and it feels really good to be finally getting back to some home improvement projects (even if we have to outsource them now since we have NO time). They started work on the deck this week by giving it a deep cleaning to prep it for sanding, and although I don't know what they used to clean it (probably something pretty intense bc it was DIRTY!), I loved coming out on the deck after they left and smelling the clean smell (chemicals?) and knowing that it meant work was underway. Hooray! TOUCH: Yoga on the beach {during my yoga photoshoot with Olivinthelife Photography} As you've probably already seen, after over 3 years I *finally* got a new yoga photoshoot done last weekend. It was so lovely to be out on the beach doing yoga at sunset and I am super happy with the pics that my fabulous friend and student, Olivia Beaton, took during the sesh. I've been slowly updating my sites over the past week and it feels so good to give them a refresh. Check out my yoga website for some of the new pics! Hope you had a week full of simple joys, too, and that you can find the time to reflect on them today. Have a BEAUTIFUL weekend! Comments are closed.
