How was your week? It wooshed by, as usual, didn't it? If you, too, feel like life is flying by much too quickly, I encourage you to take a moment to stop and reflect on your simple, sensory pleasures from the past week--I promise it slows things down a bit ;) Here are some of my simple joy from the past 7 days/my life post-Peru... HEAR: Kacey Musgraves' new album, Pageant Material I'm a huge Kacey Musgraves fan. I see her as one of the few newer artists who is doing country music right; She's innovative and brings new, modern messages to country music, but her songs still have a traditional country sound (as opposed to pop-country or bro country). Her newest album, which I bought this week and have been listening to on repeat, is just lovely. You can listen to "Cup of Tea," a song from this album that has a *very* sweet message, below: SEE: Home sweet home + everything associated with it! As I've already mentioned, my trip to Peru made me very thankful for my life in the U.S. and all of the gifts + privileges that come with this life. Upon coming home, I was thrilled to see our house (I love it so much and it felt huge after being in Peru!), my sweet Sayde, Ben, our yard, our comfy bed, soft toilet paper, clean water, I could go on and on. #grateful TASTE: Seltzer + Lime + Mason Jar + Back Porch This week has been GORGEOUS on the Cape. I've been working on finishing up a client website and my eBook, so I've been spending lots of time sitting on my back porch (under an umbrella), working on my laptop and sipping on seltzer. It's become a ritual--get set up outside, head back in to make some seltzer with my SodaStream (you know it!), pour it into a large mason jar, cut a wedge of lime and add it to the glass, and head back outside. As I sip my drink and enjoy the breeze while working, I feel like I'm living the dream ;) SMELL: Siam Poppy Soy Candle by Kobo Heaven in a candle! My friend brought me this candle when she came to visit a few weeks ago, and it is divine. I mean, it smells SO good that words won't do it justice. Also, the package is plantable and it grows into a poppy plant! Can't wait to plant it and watch it grow (unless I kill it somehow, which is likely). TOUCH: Stand Up Paddleboard I had my first SUP experience on Sunday and it was amazing! Although I had just gotten back from Peru the night before, Ben had already made plans for us to get out on the water and enjoy the gorgeous sunshine on kayaks and a SUP, courtesy of his aunts (who own all the gear), so I got myself up for it. As I had imagined it would be, SUP was really fun, challenging, and very addictive! Now I just need to try yoga on one...eek ;) That's it for this week! What brought you joy over the past 7 days? Take some time to think about it today, if you can... Have a wonderful July weekend, bloggies! Comments are closed.
