Another big, intense week has come and gone. These weeks really are full of it all, aren't they? Life-wise, work-wise, pregnancy-wise, sad world news-wise (so many tragedies happening lately!)--the good, the bad, the ups-and-downs, and everything in between. My week flew by, but I'm thinking that's how most weeks are going to be until this baby joins us...Ben is away at a bachelor party this weekend (yes, we win the award for parents-to-be with the most out-of-town bachelor/bachelorette parties in the last two trimesters), so as long as she doesn't come this weekend, we're good ;) But anyways, how was your week? Can you find some time today to reflect on and perhaps identify some of your favorite simple, sensory pleasures from the past week? Here are some of mine... HEAR: "Lights" by Josh Ritter I put this song on my July playlist, right near the end of the playlist, and every time it plays in my classes, I find it to be super calming and soothing. I don't know what it is about it, but I just love it. I'm also a huge Josh Ritter fan, so that might be part of it ;) You can listen below: SEE: Family Baby Shower {Adorable decorations, wonderful people, sweet gifts, all of it!} Last weekend, my ladies-in-law (Ben's Aunts and female family members) threw me the sweetest family baby shower ever. Their attention to detail was amazing--everything was themed and color-coordinated, much of the decor was hand-made (you know I love me some hand-made decor!), the food was delicious, and there were even little origami Sayde's on the table, wearing her pink "it's a girl" collar. I could have died! It was so wonderful spending the afternoon with so many amazing women and I felt very loved. Oh, and of course I got lots of much-needed gifts for our little one; so exciting! TASTE: Carrot Cake Cupcake from Little Miss Cupcape At the aforementioned shower, we had the most decadent, adorable cupcakes ever. As you can see from the pic above, they had little pink icing booties on top of them (can you stand it?). There were three different flavors, but I went for my fave, carrot cake, and it did not disappoint. De-licious. TOUCH: Trip to my [new] chiropractor While I expected my lower back to hurt during pregnancy, since that's where I've always had issues, I've been surprised to find that my lower back is fine, it's my upper back/thoracic spine that has been in agony. So yesterday I finally went to a new chiropractor (my old one was far away and had become too difficult to get to), and it was great! I felt so much better walking out of there and my back has been MUCH better ever since. Hooray! SMELL: Plantlife Aromatherapy Soap in Tangerine Grapefruit OMG, this soap. Another gift from one of my students (it was a "for the mom" gift included with some baby gifts), I am in love with the scent. It's super refreshing and showering this week has felt like quite the new treat...so funny how such a small thing can make such a difference in your day, isn't it? So there you go. Always so much to be grateful for--even on tough, stressful, busy, and/or sad weeks. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing some of you at my LAST workshop before baby, which is happening tonight at Centerville Yoga + Wellness Center from 6-8!
