Hello from Tennessee! This week's SJOTW installment will be quick, so that I can continue to spend every possible second with my BFFs. As you can probably imagine, we're already having the time of our lives, and I am totally head-over-heels-in-love with this trip and my friends (as always).
Here are a few of the fabulous simple, sensory joys that we've been able to enjoy thus far... HEAR: College throwback songs + a dance party Last night we had an at-home dance party in the kitchen--for about an hour around midnight (the neighbors and my friend's husband LOVED it, I'm sure). We danced, sang at the top of our lungs, and played all of our old college favorites. The only difference between this dance party and the ones that we had years ago was that this time we piped the music through my friends high-tech record player (so cool?), our dance moves were less risque, and our skirts/dresses were longer. Ah, the benefits of getting older ;) SEE: My Friends Oh-em-gee, I love them so. SO, SO, SO. Words cannot express how amazing it has been to spend time with them. And another one arrives today! This week/weekend couldn't be more perfect :) TASTE: Cookie Cake I've decided to bite the bullet and just eat gluten on this trip, as there's no way around it. I mean, how can a girl stand by when everyone is eating cookie cake? It's impossible. And wow, was it delicious! My belly ached all night long, but it was totally worth it. SMELL: The Great Outdoors Yesterday, we took the birthday girl on a surprise trip to Hot Springs, NC, for a little mountain getaway. We went on a hike (and got lost, of course), had lunch, and then took a soak in a hot natural mineral bath by the river. The only un-fun birthday surprise was when the birthday girl got stung by a wasp while basking in the tub. Not cool, nature. TOUCH: Natural Hot Springs See above, obviously. The hot springs were amazing and our skin felt really silky smooth afterward. It was the perfect way to end the day after our long hike, during which we climbed "130 flights of stairs" (according to my FitBit). Yay! I hope your week was full of simple, sensory joys, as well, and that you're able to find time to reflect and appreciate them. Have a fabulous weekend! I'll post lots more pictures from my trip on Monday. If you want a sneak-peek, follow me on instagram ;) Comments are closed.
