A few of the simple, sensory joys that brought me pleasure this week... HEAR: Blank Space/Style-Taylor Swift Mash-Up by Louisa Wendorff Okay, so I should be honest and admit that this was actually a SJOTW from over the holidays, but I have to share it with you, just in case you missed it [Because it's THAT good]. Listen/watch below: SEE: All of my wonderful students, back in class for 2015 ;) For a yoga teacher, there's always something really special about classes in the New Year. Not because of all of the Resolution-ers (although that's great, too!), but because so many past regulars recommit or have time to practice again. Every class is like a reunion, there's GREAT energy in the room, and it's super fun to teach. This week has been great! TASTE: Homemade Decaf Latte My dear friend, Sara, gave us a Latte Maker for my birthday. The last time I was visiting her, she made me a couple of homemade lattes and I adored them (and told her that), but I never thought she'd remember and buy me a maker of my own... Flash forward to the present, and we now have one and we're OBSESSED. Ben and I both look forward to having afternoon decaf lattes on the weekends or on special days (they feel like such a treat!) and I have to tell you, there is just something about them that feels so comforting and decadent. Oh, and you should know that we use whole milk to make them. #ballin SMELL: Creme Brulee Candle Another amazing birthday gift, this candle = to die for. I don't even know if I like the actual dessert that much (too sweet?), but the candle scent seriously transports me to another place and time--not sure where, but I'm definitely wearing pearls and a headpiece of some sort ;) Plus, the candle is made by a company called Black Dog Candles, who donates a portion of their proceeds to their local animal shelters, which I obviously LOVE. TOUCH: New Hand-Knitted Mittens One of my most wonderful students (who also happens to look a lot like Jess on The New Girl, which is amazing) knitted the mittens pictured above for me. They are gorgeous (can you stand the talent?), super snuggly, my favorite color [that I didn't know was my favorite color until everything I purchased in 2014 was this color], and handmade. So many sweet + thoughtful people in my life! Oh, and I have to tell you that we're closing on our *NEW HOUSE* next Thursday! This is a huge SJOTW that has been making me very excited for quite a while now. I can't wait to share pics and deets with you, which I promise to do as soon as all of the docs are signed and we have our keys. Can't. Wait. Anyhoopers, what brought you joy over the past week? Take some time to pause and reflect today, if you can... And I hope to see some of you at tomorrow's Foundations of Vinyasa Yoga workshop at Centerville Yoga + Wellness Center (details here)! Happy Fri-Fri, everyone. Great to be back in action, isn't it!?
