A few of the simple, sensory joys that brought me pleasure this week... HEAR: "There is a Light" by Steve Gold This has been my January savasana song, and I've really, really loved it hearing it in my classes [yes, I've shared a couple other Steve Gold songs in the past...I guess I'm a fan?]. I only have two more plays before I retire this playlist and make a new one for February, so I'm soaking it up! You can listen below: SEE: Sayde (11.4lbs) in 28" of snow (!) Cutest. Thing. Ever. Like, EVERRRRRRR. As one of Sayde's Instagram friends, Pickles the Bassett Hound, said, "Sayde looks like a Dolphin [in the snow]!" And she does. You can see for yourself by following me on Instagram and watching THIS video ;) TASTE: Homemade blueberry muffins We made homemade muffins during the blizzard! It was Ben the Baker's idea (that's what I'm calling him these days) and it was quite fun and very delicious. I haven't made muffins in years (er, ever?) and they were great. Of course, we had lattes with them, and we felt very decadent and celebratory ;) SMELL: Drying paint Obviously, I had to include a home improvement simple joy here, as we spent almost all of last weekend working on the house (again). We've got two rooms painted now and the smell of drying paint was quite a relief--it meant we'd actually applied some paint to the walls (finally!) and that we were making progress. I can't wait to share before + after pics with you! Soon, I promise... TOUCH: Hardcore winter gear--snow boots, ski pants, etc. 28" of snow. Need I say more? It was so fun getting out all of our skiing gear and my new snow boots [that I bought at the end of last season] and heading out into the blizzard to explore. Thank goodness for warm gear! This week was exciting but strange and kind of weird; for a day or two there, it felt like we were living in an alternate universe where everything had stopped and the outside world no longer existed. Then we spent the next day or two trying to dig out and resume our lives while navigating shaky roads and closures. It's been disorienting, so I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine over the next couple of days. I hope you had a wonderful week and that you're able to find some time to reflect on your simple joys today! Also hope to see some of you at the 30 Days to LYF event this weekend ;) Comments are closed.
