Winter storm Jonas is coming!!!! Well, not really for us--we might get 6" or so--but probably for a lot of you out there. I hope that if you are in the line of the storm, you have everything that you need and can use this weekend as a chance to hunker down at home with your loved ones (and/or fur babies) and enjoy some much-deserved downtime, snuggle time, and lots o' simple, sensory joys. So lets get to it! What brought you happiness over the past week? A few of my SJOTW are below... HEAR: The Pinkprint by Nicki Minaj I'm a year late on this album, but seeing as though I bought my last Nicki Minaj album back in 2010, I was long overdue. Since starting the Yoga Strong program a few weeks ago, I've gotten back into the habit of listening to loud music while working out, and I find that there's nothing better for weight training than rap. Thus: Nicki Minaj. I'd worn out Pink Friday so decided to give her latest a try and have not been disappointed. She's simply the best! No wonder this album was nominated for Best Rap Album! You can listen to one of my favorites below (warning: this song and all of her songs are explicit, so perhaps don't play at work?): SEE: Consignment Furniture shopping While my friend Sara was visiting last weekend, we decided to go consignment furniture shopping because Ben and I are still in need of quite a few pieces for our house. It was so fun, it got me back in the home project head space, and the best part? I left with 4 more chairs for our dining room, a nice bookshelf, + a framed mirror--all for under $80! Can't wait to paint all of the chairs and share the final product with you... TASTE: Delicious meals out with Sara As I've already mentioned multiple times here on the blog, it was AMAZING having Sara in town last weekend {you can hear more about it on this week's podcast episode}. Not only was it fun and a much-needed girl's weekend, it was also a delicious couple of days because, as one does when they have a friend in town, we ate a bunch of meals out at my favorite local restaurants. SMELL: DollyMoo Muscle Butter This stuff = pure gold. One of the best muscle rubs I've ever used! In a class I took this week, a teacher used it on me in savasana and it was heavenly. Plus, the smell! OMG! So good. TOUCH: Space Heater {My new BFF} Ben and I have been waging a thermostat war for years, and this winter has been no different. But luckily, we've come to an unspoken truce as of late: we can keep the thermostat at 65 (so cold, right?) as long as I can keep my little space heater on all day and carry it around the house with me wherever I go. Thank goodness for space heaters! Sayde is a big fan, too ;) There you have it! I hope that your week was just as full of simple, sensory joys, and that you find the time to reflect on them today. Oh, and if you haven't already seen, the LAST round of my rescue dog-inspired long-sleeved pullovers are now available in my Etsy shop. There are just a few of each size left and then they're gone (forever), so if you want to snag one of the last few, you can do so here. Stay warm + safe out there, everyone! Comments are closed.
