Here we are! Halfway through January and still no big snowstorms for us here on Cape Cod...hoping this bodes well for us as we move into the rest of the winter months! {Fingers crossed.} How was your week? I hope it was chock full o' simple, sensory pleasures. Here are a few of things that brought me joy over the past week... HEAR: 'Didn't He Ramble' by Glen Hansard Did you see the movie Once? Glen Hansard is the guy who plays the male lead in that movie, and his voice is AMAZING. My dad recently gave me this album and I've been loving it; listening on repeat while I work in the mornings. You can listen to one of my favorite songs from the album below: SEE: Making a Murderer on Netflix I'm sure that you're already watching this series because it seems that the entire internet is--but if, by chance, you're one of the few who is not, you must get on it! So crazy, so well done, so perplexing, so sad, so addicting, so everything. We talked about it on this week's podcast episode, too, but seriously, get on it. TASTE: Whole Wheat Rice Cakes + Peanut Butter I know this may seem like a lame simple joy, but I can't help it! There's just something about a rice cake and peanut butter that takes me back and makes me happy. I've been eating this as a little pre workout/weight-training snack this week and it's delicious. SMELL: Spackle We're back in the home improvement game! We spent last weekend working on what is eventually going to be a pantry in our kitchen and we're so excited! To be clear, I don't love the smell of spackle, but I love the smell of working on the house, and that's exactly what we did last weekend. Before, during, + after pictures will be on the blog ASAP! TOUCH: Cuddly winter accessories: mittens, hat, scarves, etc, This week was COLD. I mean, C-O-L-D. Even Sayde didn't want to go on her usual hour-long walks, so you know it must have been bad (I wish she would wear a sweater, but that's another story...). So, I've been embracing the winter accessories, bundling up as much as possible when I have to go out, and loving all of the mittens, hats, and scarves I've been gifted over the years. Other SJOTW? My friend (+ Starr Struck team member) Sara came in town for the weekend last night (I'm sure she'll be all over next week's SJOTW so I left her off of today's), I found the time to take a few delicious yoga classes, I got through my second week of the Yoga Strong program (so sore!), and enjoyed some amazing early morning snuggles with Sayde while Ben was away working on Martha's Vineyard for the week ;) Hope you can find some time to reflect on your simple, sensory pleasures of the week today, too... Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

Thanks for recommending Making a Murderer. I sat down to watch episode 1 at 6:00 pm and that was it for me. I was hooked! Didn't stop until I had watched it all. I love your blog because I always get something from it that's enriching. Thanks😊

Haha, Denise! It's so addictive, isn't it? That's a Netflix binge-sesh if I've ever heard of one! ;) Thanks for your comment and for reading + sharing! Now I need to catch up with you....xoxo!
