This week: two snowstorms down, one more to go (?). Welcome to my new life in Massachusetts. If there's one thing that I've learned since moving to the Cape, it's that you have to be flexible and learn to roll with the punches when it comes to the weather in New England (and subsequent yoga class cancellations, undriveable roads, etc.). Flexibility when it comes to life on the mat = bring it on. Flexibility when it comes to life off of the mat = not my forte. {I think life is trying to teach me something!} That being said, although this was a weird week, it was still full of simple pleasures (as per ushe). Here are a few of my favorite sensory experiences of the week. What made you smile, laugh, or let go for a moment? HEAR: "O Leaozinho" by Priscilla Ahn My new February playlist is up, and as usual, I have many of YOU to thank for the new songs. Yes, there are some old faves (I'm revisiting songs from old playlists this year, as I've made *so* many and am in a new place, so would love to introduce my new students to some of the well-received past playlist songs!), but there are also some new gems, mostly recommended to me by you, my readers who now know my taste very well :) This song, "O Leaozinho," is one of those wonderful recommendations. Such a pretty song! Listen below: SEE: Sloth in a Suit Art Print by Berkley Illustration My brother, Peter, lived in Costa Rica after college. When I went to visit him, we bonded over our mutual love for sloths (which we came across multiple times on the trip). OMG, they're such amazing and funny and cute and weird little animals! So, when I found the print above on Etsy, I knew I had to get it for him for his birthday last weekend. It made me so happy to surprise him with such a weird, funny, personal little gift. {If you are a fellow animal-wearing-clothes lover, check out this fabulous Etsy shop, where you can find tons more similar, quirky, animal-inspired prints.} TASTE: Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae If you've noticed a pattern when it comes to my "Taste" SJOTW, then you're right. Yes, they're *almost* always sweets. Many of them involve chocolate of some sort. And/or ice cream. And/or cookies. I obviously have a sweet tooth and am not afraid to admit it--or indulge it--because enjoying sweets makes me SO happy! So yeah, please look at that insane choc chip sundae above. I split it with Ben, Ben's mom, and Ben's sister last weekend, and although I definitely left dinner with a FULL belly, it was worth it. Holy moly was that thing good. SMELL: Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day "Iowa Pine Scent" Cleaning Spray Our dog, Sayde, has had two little, er, accidents in the house this week. Both in the middle of the night, and both when Ben and I rolled over and said to one another, "Why is she getting out of bed in the middle of the night?" And then proceeded to roll over and go back to sleep (while Sayde peed in the living room). I've learned two things from this: 1. Wake up and let Sayde out when she gets out of bed in the middle of the night [Yes, she sleeps with us...under the covers...often between my legs...]. 2. Mrs. Meyer's Pine cleaning spray is really delicious smelling. Thanks, Sayde ;) TOUCH: New Snow Boots! I've had quite the snow boot saga. I ordered some back in December, after our first snow. They were backordered 3 times until I canceled them and bought another pair. The new pair came this week, and wow, have they made a difference in the snow! I was slogging it out in Uggs (which would get soaked right away) and rain boots (which left my feet numb!), so having real warm, waterproof snow boots has been a big joy. If you're looking for a good pair, here are the ones I got (love them so far!). So, there you have it! This weekend I'll be teaching an Absolute Beginners Workshop (sign up online here), two yoga classes (if they don't get snowed out), and hopefully, attending Love Live Local's LoveLocal Fest at Cape Cod Beer (again, if it doesn't get snowed out). Hope you have a wonderful weekend and that you're able to take some time to reflect on your simple, sensory joys of the week--before the past 7 days are just a distant memory...

Try listening to Caetano Veloso - Leãozinho...it's the original version of that song by one of the most known Brazilian musicians!
