A few of the simple, sensory joys that brought me pleasure over the past week or so... HEAR: Thinking Out Loud/I'm Not the Only One Mash-Up by Sam Tsui + Casey Breves Another amazing mash-up! The internet is killing it these days, isn't it? So many talented singers putting themselves out there on YouTube--I love it. Listen below: SEE: New paint color on the living room wall! Our living/dining room is the biggest room in the new house, and for weeks, I'd been dying to get some paint on the walls in that room, just to see how the new color would look. Last weekend, we *finally* did one coat on one of the walls (just 1--that's all we had time for!), and it was *so* exciting to see how it looked. I love the color and am pumped to paint the rest of the room this weekend! I'll of course share the before + after pics and paint color when it's done. TASTE: Hummus [It's been so long!!!! Let me explain...] Hummus has been one of my favorite foods for, um, ever. But about a year ago, I decided that it was one of the major causes of my constant stomach problems, so I stopped buying it and stopped eating it. Which was pretty sad. For some reason, I decided to pick up a small package at the grocery store on Sunday, and OMG I hadn't realized how much I missed it! I tried to indulge sparingly, so as not to upset my tummy, and it was SUCH a treat this week. Yay! SMELL: Zum Mist Room + Body Spray in Lavender-Mint This stuff is TO DIE FOR! Although I don't own a bottle of it (I need to buy one?), we sell it at one of the studios where I teach and every time I go there, I douse myself in the stuff. Lavender-Mint is my fav scent, but they're all pretty incredible... TOUCH: Packing Tape + Boxes We've [finally] started packing and bringing boxes over to the new house! It's thrilling! It's making this whole we-bought-a-house-and-we're-going-to-actually-live-in-it thing feel real. We move one week from Sunday and I can't wait to live in our own home for the first time ever. Eeeekkk! What brought you joy this week? Did you read this amazing short essay/article by Elizabeth Gilbert? Did you see these two hamsters go on a Valentine's Day date? Did you listen to Episode 5 of our podcast? Hope you found time to enjoy lots of fun, silly, simple pleasures over the past 7 days, and that you can find some time to reflect on them today... Have a great weekend and Happy Valentine's Day! We're supposed to get another blizzard (hooray) on Saturday night, so keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't get too out of control for us [we really don't want to move with 3 feet of snow on the ground].
