A few of the simple, sensory joys that brought me pleasure this week... HEAR: 1989 by my guurrrlll T. Swift You knew it was coming, didn't you? People, I don't care what you say, this album is GdoubleOD good. I mean, the lady can write a hit like no other. And pop music? She's got it in the bag. Ben and I have both been singing songs from her new album around the house for the past two weeks or so, and it's become my go-to music when I need a pick-me-up. Listen to a fun one, "Style," below: SEE: Holiday greeting cards packaged up + finished commissions = productivity! This week has been a total blur, consisting primarily of packaging up and shipping out Etsy shop purchases and working on holiday painting commissions in between classes and emails; I always forget how this aspect of my small business gets so insane this time of year (not complaining--I'm so thankful!)! Every time I finish a painting or seal up a package, I feel a huge sense of accomplishment...and I'm finally on top of all of my orders, so feel free to keep 'em coming! ;) TASTE: The post-Thanksgiving leftover sandwich (you know the drill!) Is there anything better than this sandwich? I know everyone does it differently, but wow, it's a treat. Ben and I had a second, mini-Thanksgiving last Saturday (made our own turkey), just so that we would have enough leftovers to make these sandwiches for a couple of days. Then, because we were so excited, Ben came home from work for lunch on both Monday and Tuesday (small town living, y'all), and we made these sandwiches and ate them together. We made a mini one for Sayde, too. [Not really, but wouldn't that have been cute?] SMELL: Wintry/holiday scented candles I can finally light all of my holiday-scented candles! Hooray! They smell SO good! It's amazing what one little candle can do to get you into the spirit, isn't it? In the words of Amy P, yes please. TOUCH: New mat bag Strangely enough, I've never had a cute mat bag. Or a mat bag, period. So, when I was at Kripalu a few weeks ago and was carrying my 50 lb Manduka mat around in my arms, I decided to treat myself to a mat bag. Do you see how cute it is (pictured above)? Plus, it really does make a difference to be able to sling your mat over your shoulder. You think I'd know this after selling them to yogis for four years ;) Oh, and I got this one, made by Prana. So there you have it! What brought you happiness this week? I hope you can find the time to reflect on your SJOTW today... I also hope to see some of you locals at my Preparing for the Holidays with Restorative Yoga workshop on Saturday (2-4pm) and/or at the Orleans Yoga + Pilates Holiday Soiree (Sat. 5-7pm), where I'll be selling some of my prints + greeting cards :) Have a great Friday, peeps!

Hi Mary Catherine! I smiled sooooo much when I read this post. All of it is delicious...my sister and I have been texting each other TS lyrics all week. A random and welcome text notification chimes, and I look down and see, "cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play and the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate. Baby, I'm just gonna shake, Shake, Shake, shake, shake. Shake it off, shake it off!' xoxox Comments are closed.
