Well, it's December 4th! I'm having a hard time not going into a whole thing about how fast this year went by (if you listen to the podcast, you'll know I've been trying to break this habit for quite a while) so I'll just say this...wow. Hard to believe we're in the last month of 2015! How was your first week in December? Mine was pretty rushed, and although I'm definitely starting to feel the crunch of the holidays and the pressure to get our tree up + decorate our house, the past 7 days were still chock full o' simple, sensory joys. You can peruse some of my favorites below. HEAR: "My December" by Scala & Kolacny Brothers I can't even tell you how much I love Scala & Kolacny Brothers. Their songs are SO beautiful, they're amazing for yoga, and they just get me every time. I just added this song to my December class playlist because I can't get enough of it. You can listen below: SEE: Master of None on Netflix Watching this show has converted me into a huge Aziz Ansari fan. I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know much about him until I started watching Master of None, but now I am 100% in. I've been listening to his interviews on podcasts, watching his standup, reading articles about him, and just love his message and his sense of humor. TASTE: Um, obviously Pumpkin Pie Was there any question? Every year I make two pumpkin pies; one for the family Thanksgiving meal, one for me and Ben post-Thanksgiving. This year we started in on our pie the night BEFORE Thanksgiving, and then because there was so much dessert and two pumpkin pies at the big meal, we were able to bring home at least half a pie from the dinner, so we basically ate 1.5 pumpkin pies by ourselves in just a few days. When it comes to pie, we don't mess around! TOUCH: Our new, energy-efficient washer + dryer (finally!) After 3 weeks of Saturday evening trips to the laundromat (while waiting on the plumber and electrician to finish their work on our house so we could move our new washer + dryer down to the basement--long story) we're finally in business! Our new washer + dryer were delivered on Tuesday and so far, we're thrilled. Modern appliances, peeps, they're the real deal! SMELL: Holiday candles all day errrrr day ;) Hooray! Burning winter/holiday candles is one of my fave things about this time of year! The scent does so much to get me in the mood, it's crazy. So there you have it! Hope you can find some time to reflect on your simple, sensory joys of the week today, too... Quick note for my local yogis: at the time I'm writing this, there are 3 spots left in my Preparing for the Holidays with Restorative Yoga workshop at Orleans Yoga this weekend. You can snag one of the last few spaces by signing up here. Have a wonderful Friday + weekend, everyone! Comments are closed.
