We're just one week out from Christmas! Wowee! This week was a great one because I finished + shipped out all of my holiday commissions, attended two holiday parties, celebrated a friend's birthday, had a wonderful Holiday Google Hangout with my long distance besties, and tomorrow is my 31st birthday. So many things to celebrate!
But before we jump ahead, lets take a look back: what brought you joy over the past week? My favorite simple, sensory pleasures from the past 7 days are below... HEAR: Christmas Music {Specifically Pandora's Mariah Carey Christmas station and Michael Buble Christmas Station} I've been listening to a lot of Christmas music this week. There are few things that put me in the spirit quite like these two Pandora stations (which have been my go-tos for years) and let me tell you, I am not afraid to sing along to almost every song. There's nothing like it. SEE: Organized Basement! Ever since we moved into our new house, our basement has slowly become an Elephant Graveyard; anything that doesn't have a place in the house just gets carried down to the basement and put on the floor. But not anymore! We bought shelving and organized last weekend! It felt so great to get everything off of the floor and in it's place--organization makes me VERY happy. Now lets see how long we can keep it that way ;) TASTE: Holiday party dinners I went to two wonderful yoga studio holiday parties this past week, and trust me when I say that these were nothing like the typical "office" holiday parties that everyone dreads. Both were at local restaurants (The Red Nun and Sunbird) and were full of delicious food, amazing people, and wonderful conversation. I love my yoga communities and am so thankful that I'm surrounded by such inspiring souls here on Cape Cod. SMELL: Not Your Mother's "Clean Freak" Purifying Shampoo + Conditioner I am SUCH a sucker for good design. So, when I went to get some new shampoo and conditioner this past week, I totally fell for this brand's packaging--the package design was just THAT good! That being said, these products both have a great scent and when it comes to hair care products, it's always nice to change things up (even if just for the change in sensory experience!). TOUCH: Madewell's Flannel Slim Boyshirt A few weeks ago, while doing a little Christmas shopping for others, I decided to treat myself to a special birthday flannel ;) The shirt I ordered arrived in the mail this week and I absolutely LOVE it. So soft, comfy, and flattering. New uniform for winter? I think so. Also, the last time I wore a flannel shirt might have been around 1995...so that's fun ;) Other SJOTW? Decorating the Christmas Tree, having friends over for dinner, a long, luxurious breakfast out with friends on a Thursday morning (Thursday is the new Saturday?), all of the sweet holiday gifts I've already been given, and of course, sneaking away to take some fabulous yoga classes. Hope you have a wonderful weekend full of holiday festivities!
