It's feeling quite seasonal around here! We got our first few inches of snow yesterday and it's cold enough that it seems to be sticking around, so it's looking much more Christmasy than it was just a few days ago. Yippee!
How was your week? I hope wonderful, productive, and relaxing all at once. And of course, I hope it was FULL of simple, sensory joys. Here are some of my fave #SJOTW from the past 7 days: HEAR: "La Ciudad" by ODESZA I put this song on my December Yoga Playlist and am so glad that I did. It comes on during our "building heat" portion of practice (Sun Salutations--Surya A & B) and every time that it does, it gets me super pumped-up. I think it's my new go-to yoga pump-up song. You can listen here. SEE: Charlie Mae walking in her new sneaks I finally got Charlie Mae her first real pair of walking shoes/sneakers and they're freaking adorable. When she wore them for the first time she got all excited; she started walking around in a really funny way and saying, "Walky walky walky. Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!" It was awesome and she looks so cute in her tiny sneaks ;) TASTE: Butternut Squash + Quinoa Vegetarian Chili (and cornbread, of course) Ben's Aunt made this chili at a family gathering that she hosted last weekend and it was the best chili I've ever eaten. It was really cold outside and this meal was perfectly warming and grounding--especially when served with cheese + sour cream on top and a piece of cornbread on the side. Want to make some? I'm not sure if this is the exact recipe she used or not, but it looks similar. SMELL: Rosemary Essential Oil OMG, have you smelled Rosemary EO? It's divine! A teacher used it on me in savasana in a class that I went to this week (shout-out Tricia!) and the smell was perfect. It has a little kick to it but is also relaxing and seasonal at the same time. Have to get some for myself! TOUCH: Decorating the tree We finally decorated our Christmas Tree! And by "we," I mean I decorated it while Ben made dinner + watched the Celtics and Charlie Mae played on the floor around us. But still, it was exciting to get it decorated and it looks so beautiful. Maybe someday my family will actually help me do it ;) And there you have it! I hope you can find time to reflect on your SJOTW today, too. Have a wonderful weekend! Comments are closed.
