You guys, Charlie Mae turned one yesterday! I still can't believe it. I mean I can, but I can't. We're hosting a duck-themed family birthday party for her tomorrow, so I'll share pics from her party + some thoughts on my first year as her mama on the blog on Monday.
Until then, I'll try to keep this week's SJOTW about non-Charlie Mae things (so hard, haha!), but know that my biggest SJOTW (by far) was celebrating 1 yesterday and reflecting on this past {best + hardest} year of my life with our precious little one. That being said, lets get to it! What brought you joy over the past 7 days? My favorite simple, sensory pleasures are below... HEAR: "Moon" by Yoste This song is on my August class playlist and I LOVE it (and thus, love hearing it come on when I'm teaching). I also think goes along nicely with this week's Solar Eclipse theme ;) Listen here. SEE: The Eclipse! Although I'm still *slightly* bummed that I didn't have access to eclipse glasses on Monday, I enjoyed seeing the eclipse in the homemade pinhole projector + colander that I used to look at the shadow, and I really loved seeing all of the incredible pics and videos of it after the fact. So incredible. TASTE: Tea out of my new "every now and then I fall apart" taco-themed mug Bahahaha! I'm still laughing about this mug that I received in the mail this week from my dear friend Laura (who is also my Namaste Nantucket retreat co-leader). We used to sing this song all the time in college (there's a story there, of course...), but also it arrived on eclipse week AND has a hilarious taco twist. The best. SMELL: Tias Little Workshop Okay, so there wasn't really a scent associated with this workshop, but I couldn't fit it in anywhere else so we'll call it "the scent of freedom" at having 3 luxurious hours to myself last Friday afternoon ;) Learning from Tias Little, doing 3 hours of thoughtful yoga with him + 90 other yogis, and feeling more relaxed than I have in quite a while was simply dreamy. He is such an incredible teacher! If you ever have the opportunity to learn from him, I highly recommend you jump on it. Shout-out to Aunt Nancy for hanging out with Charlie Mae so I could attend! TOUCH: Barefoot dancing with no baby on me {at Babywearing Hip Hop} Wednesday was the last Babywearing Hip Hop class of the summer session, and since all of our babies are getting older and don't want to hang out in the carriers the entire time anymore, we've started taking them out about halfway through the class and letting them play on the floor together while we keep an eye on them and continue dancing. After dancing with a heavy baby on me for months and months, dancing on the soft floor without the extra weight makes me feel super light and carefree (and also like a way better dancer, haha!). Can't wait until this class starts back up in the fall. So there you have it--another wonderful week has come and gone. Now I'm off to our 1 year pediatrician's appointment + party-prepping errands! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and can find some time to reflect on your SJOTW today... Comments are closed.
