What a week! It was a TOTAL blur, but it was a great one. We had guests in town--more on that below--so it went by even more quickly than usual (if that's even possible!). How was your week? Can you take some time to reflect on the past 7 days + identify your simple joys today? I hope so... Oh, since I know you're on pins and needles, no, I *still* haven't received my new Fitbit...dying over here! Anyways, here are a few of my simple, sensory pleasures from the past week... HEAR: Metaphysical Fitness by EarthRise SoundSystem OMG, I played this yoga-inspired hip hop song in my Love Yoga Festival class, and when it came on, I felt the energy shift. It's such a great song! One of the students in class (shout-out Olivia!) looked up at me, smiled, and started nodding her head along to the beat, which made me very happy. You can listen below: SEE: Visitors from DC! My good friend Erica and her 1-year old, Andie, came to visit this week {You may remember Erica from Starr Struck Radio Episode #16: Being a Working Mom}. It was SO great to see Erica and Andie, and having a 1-year old stay with us was quite the eye-opening experience! ;) Sweet little Andie is AMAZING and it was so fun to cuddle and play with her. Plus, we got lots of beach time together, which was much-needed (and again, totally different with a baby!). Yay for guests but boo for Sayde's baby jealousy issues... TASTE: Fresh, locally-grown corn on the cob (+ dachshund corn holders!!) Ben and I grilled out twice last weekend and both times, we cooked up some fresh corn from a local farm. Ben kept proclaiming that it was the best corn he'd ever had, and it may have been, but I've had a lot of good sweet corn down South so I wasn't ready to make that claim. Either way, it was way more fun this time around because we used our dachshund corn holders, which Sayde gave Ben for Christmas last year ;) SMELL: Baby at the beach + salt water There's something SO sweet about being in the ocean with a little one clinging to you in the water, all sunscreen, saltiness, and giggles. When at the beach this week, we spent more time in the water than I have all season, and it was so lovely I can't even begin to describe it. It was hot out, the water was the perfect temp, and little Andie was having the time of her life "swimming" back and forth between me and Erica. Perfect beach day. TOUCH: Breeze on my skin while doing yoga outside at Love Yoga Festival Doing yoga outside is the BEST. Especially when you're right near the water and the breeze off of the ocean whispers in and cools you down. What a treat! There's just nothing like Cape Cod in the summer. Oh, and two quick upcoming events you should be aware of:
And with that, I'm off to get caught up on work and then head to Orleans (MA) to spend all afternoon studying with Tias Little {Want to join? Info here}. Cannot wait. Have a great weekend, everyone! Comments are closed.
