Welp, we're back in town and *trying* to get back in action! That trip to Whistler was no joke: I didn't realize (back when I booked it) that it would be an 18-hour travel day on each end...whew! That was a lot of travel for a 3-day trip, but we made it home in one piece and in the end I can definitely say it was worth it ;)
So, what brought you joy over the past 7 days? Here are my simple, sensory pleasures from the past week in Canada... HEAR: Lots of laughter with the fam! It was so fun to spend some quality time with my dad + brothers this week! We haven't all been together since Christmas, which was a very short visit, so it was incredible to have a couple of days to hang out (even if it was only before + after they skied each day). We laughed so much! I feel so grateful that I have a family I enjoy being around so much; they make me very happy :) SEE: Whistler Mountain I know I've said it already, but wow, Whistler is gorgeous. It's an incredible town and really, from what I saw, that whole area of the world is incredible! If you have a chance to go to Vancouver/the Vancouver area, I highly recommend you go, as I was truly blown away by it. TASTE: Delicious meals in Whistler We ate dinner out every night of our trip, which felt like a huge indulgence but was *very tasty*. My favorite night was Mexican night (of course!), during which we had some INCREDIBLE guacamole, but we also enjoyed some delicious savory crepes, fresh Canadian salmon, and more. Yum! SMELL: Essential oils + lotions during my massage I got my first prenatal massage while in Whistler and it was 2 hours long--it was insane! While the massage was good (the guy was slightly kooky...), I enjoyed the sensory aspects of it almost more than the tactile aspects; the massage therapist used all sorts of oils, sprays, lotions, and incense throughout the session, and it felt like quite the olfactory experience when all was said and done. TOUCH: Baby kicks + movements (!!!) I've been feeling our baby girl move in my belly!!! It's wild. At first I wasn't sure if those little flutters I was feeling were really her or not, but I've felt them enough now that I know she's the culprit. {Wow.} My mind is seriously blown by the fact that there is a human being growing inside my body. Other SJOTW? Finally making our baby registry, strolling around Whistler village and perusing the shops (it was so nice to have free time to do this!), arriving home to Sayde kisses at midnight Wednesday night [we missed her SO much!], and spending a bit of time away from home with Ben. I hope you had a great week! Take some time to reflect on your #SJOTW today if you can... 4/8/2016 04:06:43 pm
Love the practice of noting something that you hear, see, taste, smell, and touch as a practice of mindfulness and gratitude! Comments are closed.
